It’s not a show about nothing. That was just George’s ridiculous idea for his and Jerry’s pilot that the NBC execs liked for some reason. The entertainment media picked up on the phrase and repeated it endlessly so it stuck. It would be more accurate to say that it was a show about everything-the human condition: friendship, pettiness, spite, envy, revenge, parents, dating, love, sex, masturbation, abortion and death to name just a few. To this day Jerry Seinfeld bristles whenever his show is referred to as “the show about nothing.”

Patrick- Yes. Back in the 90's in a 30 minute time slot it was about a 22 minute show and 8 minutes of commercials. So the episodes are about 22 minutes. Now its more like a 21/9 split. So the networks cut out a minute where they can. Has resulted in the opening scenes being cut or long laughs cut out. Makes for very weird transitions and annoying abrupt edits now. Commercials are taking over everything it sucks

Holland was a common name to say in the old days. If you talk about The Netherlands you are talking about all the locations around the world.

My 2 favorite lines are Kramers among others. "You've had your last egg sandwich" and "what would be the point of taking the water?" Such a wonderful show

6:03 I remember all the newspapers on the bus and trains before. They sized down a news paper where i live bacause you had to stretch to wide with your arms to read it so it wasnt commute friendly. Now its all phones and tabs :D

How times have changed. Reading papers on the subway instead of phones.

I've overheard coworkers, the strictly phone types, refer to those people who read actual paper books on the subway as "pretentious," "showy," and "needy for attention." Such an ugly, screen-overloaded world we live in today.

Have you been on the subway recently? There are lots of people reading the newspaper, and lots of people on their phones. It is not uncommon to see a lot of people reading the newspaper on the subway or bus.

What's funny is how reading the news on folded sheets of paper is respectable but reading it on a phone is abhorrent (to some people anyway).
