It’s not a show about nothing. That was just George’s ridiculous idea for his and Jerry’s pilot that the NBC execs liked for some reason. The entertainment media picked up on the phrase and repeated it endlessly so it stuck. It would be more accurate to say that it was a show about everything-the human condition: friendship, pettiness, spite, envy, revenge, parents, dating, love, sex, masturbation, abortion and death to name just a few. To this day Jerry Seinfeld bristles whenever his show is referred to as “the show about nothing.”

Patrick- Yes. Back in the 90's in a 30 minute time slot it was about a 22 minute show and 8 minutes of commercials. So the episodes are about 22 minutes. Now its more like a 21/9 split. So the networks cut out a minute where they can. Has resulted in the opening scenes being cut or long laughs cut out. Makes for very weird transitions and annoying abrupt edits now. Commercials are taking over everything it sucks
