Cuz yeah I admit the wig master one was a lil weird, but it was still funny to see Kramer dressed up as a pimp. And the opera one isnt one of my favorites but George and Kramer scalping tickets was hilarious! The point is even if it isnt one of their better episodes its still got funny parts with these characters. That's what makes this show so good. They did 180 episodes. Of course there's gonna be some episodes that aren't as good or as funny as other episodes. But I guarantee every episode will make ppl laugh and it is a great show as a whole. The reason this works so well for George isn’t because he’s ignoring common sense, he has always let the worst of his character traits take control over his actions. He had convinced himself that those traits were his common sense so what he thinks is being the opposite is actually just him finally taking some control over his life. Additionally he starts saying what he thinks, not brown nosing, not being a yes man, he takes initiative and is confident in his decision making; he doesn’t take the time to psych himself out of it. Fantastic writing and acting. The structure for this episode, the jokes, the scenarios are just amazing.

But now I get it. She respected his brazen honesty. He had the balls to approach her, even though he had nothing going for him and didn't try to hid this fact. If had lied or danced around the topic and tried to sugercoat it she wouldn't have been interested. It probably set him apart from all the other lying jerks she dated. Also some women love mysterious men, "Who ARE you George Costanza." (And his answer "I'm the complete opposite of every man you've ever dated.") And she was also in a position to help him and got him a job. I know not all women are like this, but the more you think about it it actually is somewhat believable.

Everyone should take at least a yearly “Opposite Day”. Not the SpongeBob type but the George kind. I tried it once and it was awesome. Really helps to get your head out of your own ass. I probably do it every couple of months now. Whatever your first instinct is, do the opposite. Your first instinct, btw, is not the same as “the first thing that pops into your head”. Your first instinct is that default behavior that makes you feel the most safe and comfortable. Like if you meet someone, your first thought is to say hello, but your first instinct is how you go about doing it - the usual comfortable way.

The actor who plays George has a wonderful voice. The cadence, tone, and delivery of his lines were awesome.

One thing I love about Seinfeld, is the relationships between the four. Without Jerry, the relationships are strange. This is an integral part of the premise of the show. My wife and I just completed the entire series. We bought the DVD set, and it took about a year and a half. SO SAD. But now, we can start at the beginning again!

With all the comedic genius here, there is one thing very dark about Seinfeld that I hadn't at first realized; there is no true friendship, no real compassion at all. All the main characters check several boxes in the sociopath category.
@professortriplextralarge52 жыл бұрын
That was one of Larry's rules of the show. Forget the exact phrasing but he didn't want any touching moments or character development.
@mateuszmazurek79912 жыл бұрын
actually Elaine seems to me most sociopathic In fact I would not be surprised if Julia would be one, of course with a very high IQ, but still. Remember they are among us and advertise too much what they are. I like hey,,,, but somehow Elaine too often strikes me as having no real empathy and very good at faking social fluency. Jesus, what a trip

This was about the time when people started talking about Seinfeld and repeating the lines and jokes at school. And people would walk into a room when the show was on and they'd stop in their tracks and stop paying attention to other people and couldn't help but start watching it even though they were doing other stuff and then when a commercial came on you'd suddenly look around and notice that everyone was just as thrilled and excited as you were. It was something you couldn't help but be amazed at and couldn't wait to see what happens next. It made all other shows seem like trash in comparison.

The fake job and the time K and Jerry switch apartment is funny, but then I think everything in Seinfeld is funny except the Chinese Restaurant show. I did not care for that one. They made a 5 minute sketch into an entire episode. I wanted more and felt I was short-changed.
