I think this "the jimmy" is similar to where we are today. Jimmy has a personal language. It has meaning to him, but no "value" for others because they don't understand him(Jimmy). The difference is Jimmy doesn't get in your face if you don't understand him or miss name him. You say" Hey man, get over here." "IT'S JIMMY! YOU #$%^&*"! No that's not Jimmy. The best example is Jimmy's conversation in the gym. A man leaves the gym, who Elaine has been preening in front of. Jimmy says to Elaine, "Jimmy likes you." Elaine thinks Jimmy is the man who just left.. Comedy then...not now. It's life and death now.
