Ground jumper wire for what? For a standard XLR cable for microphones or patch cable applications, you would solder signal (+) to XLR Pin 2, signal (-) to XLR Pin 3, and the Ground to XLR Pin 1. In the video, the ground wire is soldered at 1:40. Email us directly at [e-mail] if you have additional questions.

@@RustyDodd I'm not saying that it's needed...... In fact, I made several patch cables and never used a jumper wire. I just came across a few today that was..... Made me kind of curious if I did it wrong. Thanks.

wow, you did such a poor job you melted the plastic housing

Don't solder like this guy, because he heat pins from behind, and also melt the plastic witch hold pin. When you do that, pins sometimes lose firmness and don't stand anymore straight so you can not put male connector into female.
