So as I said, nothing hugely ground breaking, but as with any cut content, I think it's best to present it to you all rather than just keeping it to myself where it may never get truly documented. And besides it's nice to give Sekiro a bit more time in the spotlight either way.

I think the last part of Anayama's quest line still works, Anayama gives wolf his last item as a token of friendship, but given his nature as a merchant, still sells it to him for one symbolic sen.

It’s true. While I think the “cut” moment does reinforce this character trait, the game still successfully communicates it in the end regardless.

yeah,personally l would never thought he had a cut quest/dialogue. lts a concurrent event for some characters in sad storyes,plays,movies etc. to be completely irrationally optimistic in the face of the worst adversities.So l was with the idea that maybe this was a subtle hint to the player,and a message to never loose hope

Before watching this video I assumed it was due to the player having always at least 1 sen, as you can't lose the last one.

I also find it cool that the moment is delivered through the standard shop screen and all, makes it feel more clever and organic. Definitely cool cut content though, I can only chalk it up to being unfortunate collateral damage from the Dragonrot pellet mechanic being scrapped.

I've never hated the fact that a company cut content more than this one. This guy starts out and you think he's just "another Patches", but it turns out he's probably the only person that makes you feel like you have an actual friend, someone to rely on. And this content makes it so much more emotional and heartfelt when he dies with that overwhelming optimism.

from usual cuts like 5 almost completed bosses and enemies per game with loads of dialog, at least its just dialog here

@@teratoma. That really sucks, but at least this little bit of dialogue would have given me that dramatic feeling, like I lost two friends due to a needless battle. I'd feel so much more antimosity toward Genichiro and Owl. Because Kuro definitely didn't give me that desire for vengeance.

You know everyone always assumes cut content Is always better left in which probably isn't the case. Sometimes things are changed for a good reason but I can hardly see a good one for removing this. Especially because sekiro already has such a meager pool of side content, so this would've been a nice change of pace regardless of it being mostly just dialogue.

I'm pretty sure they removed the pellets because it'd be a pain to give to all the characters afflicted with dragon rot and made a general cure, because of that a lot of context around the pellets were removed and weren't replaced.

Wow it's always sad when things like this are cut, I was watching this with my hands in the air like "Why was this cut?" More than likely just because they felt it was "too complicated" for players to figure out, rather than "Durr press button on bonfire". Everything was there and worked fine. Really too bad. Really cool Japanese version of those interactions too.

Well for the sake of convenience I think it surely has some benefits to instantly heal all affected people rather than to look for them and go back and forth. It kinda takes a bit away from the dynamic in my opinion. Although it's a little unfortunate that we won't be able to see all these unused conversations that were planned for the interactions.

I cannot stress how much better the game sounds in Japanese. Not so much because of the voice acting itself, which you'll probably get used to eventually (although Anayama does sound like a pirate in English). But more so because of the nature of Japanese language, and being able to say more using less words. Wolf not being a man of many words, I always feel like he is to ''talkative'' in the English version.

I agree with this, but I also feel like the voice acting in the English dub sucks some serious ass. It all either sounds phoned in or like they just picked people off the street to come into the booth. Meanwhile, the Japanese voice acting has some lines that sound like they were agonized over until they were spoken just right. Seriously, the difference is uncanny.

I played with Japanese audio and it was perfect. I can see why people wouldn’t enjoy it like that though. Myself I couldn’t envisage playing it any other way.

RedEye the studio they have used for voice acting previously was a British firm called frognation. This time around they used an American firm. Maybe Actavision stipulated this being the publisher idk. I feel the voice acting wasn’t a bad job here just not as good as previously and slightly jarring with them accents.

@@absoutezeo2126 Yeah, Japanese voices were commissioned by FROM as always, while english voices were handled by Activision unlike all previous Soulsborne games. The translation also has some seriously misleading mistakes in there. There's even a mod on PC to fix the translation.

Loved it, i especially liked the intro, pretty simple but functional compared to usual, if more testing is allowed, perhaps adding a title too might work, even if perhaps it'd be a bit excessive. ...and yup, jp dub is still better, feels more natural, just like how ds/bb's dubs are better in English than in jp, heck, even dmc5 has better en dub, especially with nero(imho johnny yong bosch, at least in dmc, is the only english VA that portrays "anime voice" correctly)

Why would they remove this. It's so endearing. If there's one thing sekiro did right it's the character interactions so it's a shame they'd remove one of the best examples for one of the least memorable characters.

They cut things like this in basically every Souls game. 2 had this entire sidequest to get the Aged Feather (infinite homeward bone) item that was cut that added a ton of depth to the relationship between the Emerald Herald and the player.

@Lance McDonald interesting , would you make a mod to play as the bosses in this game ? as i said in the comment under your video about dark souls 3 and the debug function to control the enemies, the necessity of use the enemies is becoming more and more a basic necessity for gamers like me who are tired of developers that trow at us everything that is lame and make non playable whoever or whatever is cool and interesting (the worse example i can do is kingdom hearts 365\2 days: the member of the organization are so cool and strong to use but once they officially become playable they immediatelly become absolute garbadge , why ??? simple , because developers think that we should just use the crappiest thing they created for a game and as you can tell as a modder there is plenty of ridiculous damn limitations whatever you want to make a boss playable, just like developers are struggling to force us in to prevent us to use them o.O , absolutely ridiculous and pointles)
