In fact, there is a version of that heart that improves what you require. It's called "heart of stone" or something like that, and it does improve communion enchantments.

​@@MaCAttaK There's a dragon painting that you need to inspect in the Shadow keep. There's a ladder next to a lot of water, where if you take the ladder down, there's a hidden entrance behind a waterfall. When you find the room with the painting, inspect it, and then attack the wall to the right of the painting. It will reveal a pathway to a dungeon, and getting through that dungeon will take you to the hidden Abyssal forest. The Abyssal Forest has nothing to do with the Stone Heart, but it's easy to miss while you are going for it. After you find the Dragon Painting in the Shadow Keep, go to the jagged peak mountainside Grace in the Jagged Peak Mountain area. If you explore the area well, you should come across a phantom chair in which a phantom painter appears, who then drops the Stone Heart. You could also look up a KZbin video on the exact locations, but it is not hard to find, at all, since the Jagged Peak is pretty linear.

It’s a lot of bosses that have the summon in the arena, and they couple that with boss moves that have them lunge straight across the arena at you as soon as you walk in. Shit is crazy.

There IS a third form, the Lamementer’s Visage, which boosts arcane more than anything else in game, so it pairs with dragon spells AND is the best armor piece for farming, boosting discovery better than the Mimic Tear mask. It’s in the Lamenter’s Gaol, boss drop.

Use mimic tear with a bunch of uplifting aromatics, scarlet Aeonia, pest threads, and erstere heal with no other spells. Then talismans I use the +3 shields for physical, lightning, and fire dmg w flocks canvas talisman. Weapon with bloodhounds step to switch to on my character, not on the mimic, and both me and the mimic have a flamesrt no skill fingerprint stone shield. Summon igon and that’s how I beat bayle on ng+11

Got both and when I got the painting one after about 60 seconds my character gave a death sound and animation (white sparkle mist that appears when you die). weird bug. speaking of bugs, may be a specific weapon or item but some items on the pouch slot make it bug out, and i tried equiping an item by replacing one i had and it made every weapon turn into that one item but the moves were the ones from the weapon i swapped out and it made my game load super slow. closing and reopening fixed

And I would argue that the transformation is better for dmg but the incantation is better for defense, since you can still wear heavy armor while using it, whereas the transformation counts as armor. They’re both cool but I’m personally going to go for the transformation this time around.

So from what I understand, going to shadow keep ends up locking you out of several NPC quest lines if they weren't done prior to going there, so I don't think you will be able to get the item from him. However, I do have my own theory of an alternative method. In the base game there is a secret item you can get from seluvis called the Amber Draught. You get this item to be used to try and get Ranni as a puppet summon (however she will never drink it and kill you if you try to use it on her) so now I'm wondering if this can be used on the dragon priestess instead. I haven't gotten far enough into the dlc to try it yet though

I’m finishing my ng+2 run before I buy the DLC. But Dragon form is why I am buying. Holyshit this is cool. Never imagined we’d get shapeshifts, let alone a sickass dragon one. I hope modders take a note from this and consider making an assortment of shapeshifts. I think many creatures would make great shapeshifts. Especially for RP builds.
