It always astonishes me how modders are able to make the attack animations of Sekiro's bosses flow so naturally into each other. It's so cinematic and satisfying to watch Owl go absolutely nuts and then on top of that the player responding in kind with a flawless defence. No game I've ever seen, mods or no mods, has produced anything like this.

this is why playing other from soft games (including elden ring) feels like playing as a jumping monkey most streamers as well, they do 500 jumps in a single fight, its never as cinematic as sekiro

It's actually like a dance and I felt like I was fighting for real deflecting incoming attacks. Crazy how kids compare this to GOT. This is a perfectly, tightly built game. Feels very strong and sturdy.

@@PhilippJFry You have to learn the game by heart, the attacks, the attacks, the powers launched by the bosses and mini-bosses, it is VERY difficult, and you must dedicate A LOT BUT A LOT OF TIME to the game to play like this, I'm sorry but on KZbin you won't find any Nobody better than Ongbal in this game, try to search and send me the link to believe a little more that this guy is not the only one. Also, LOOK WITH THE ENERGY THAT PLAYS! and we want to have the whole screen hopefully to the right, full of energy so that they don't kill us hahahaha

I love how Ongbal always goes out of his way to add style points instead of being practical, Ongbal always utilizes every prosthetic, item, and pretty much everything (except the healing gourd, which is, ironically, the most used item in the game by everyone else), my day is always lifted whenever a new Ongbal video comes out, I always love to see it.

Whenever I think that this is the best OWL/ISSHIN ever but sheesh they some how make theem even cooler every single time. The camera optimisation is sick as well, I mean look at the camera zooming-in and out at those Mikiris. Also Ongbal just never forgets to entertain us with these badass videos, he basically optimises every fricking move.

Dat on sword spin dad did. Using nightjar as mikiri. That dad's attemtp to mid air slice sekiro but instead sekiro is alrdy jumping far away and shurikening him. That mist raven moment. The fact all attacks were deflected during that second phase camera sgenanigens. Lol. Would've lost to rapid moving camera alone. This is just so wild and awesome. Height of sekiro's combat.

These fights are honestly beautiful. I'm thoroughly impressed with how modders are able to make boss fights with such a variety of moves that all look natural, as if the game itself added it. Yet, the more of these videos I watch, the more disappointed I am with some of the mods. As pretty as these fights are to watch, I think watching you fight them reveals my biggest grievance with them. *They lack player agency.* By this, I mean that they aren't true to Sekiro's core game design, which is to encourage aggression by giving the player a plethora of ways to pressure the enemy and get their posture bar up. Ongbal is the king of doing this, you see it in almost all of their non-cinematic videos. Yet in videos like this, the most you see is a couple shurikens and umbrella deflects, because the enemy is so hyper-aggressive that there's barely any chances to attack. This turns the fight from a two-sided trading of blows to counter city, which becomes boring after the novelty of the moves wears off. It's a shame the Resurrection mod had a fight like this when it has already perfectly captured the vanilla game's boss design with Genichiro and Great Shinobi.

Why is that mods always add more sword moves while forgetting that bosses have their own flair like Shinobi tools and techniques for Owl Archery for Genichiro Lone shadows and their mix of Shinobi tools and techniques. Not hating , I know that adding new moves with those will be tougher since unlike sword attacks you have to add completely new animations and designs likewise files into the game it’s just something to noticed in a lot of mods. Except Resurrection Owl Father doesn’t JUST have “new sword moves” though, he has many cancels and mix-ups that corresponds with his shinobi nature(those Mist Raven effects are a visual indicator of a cancel/mix up) AND he does use shinobi techniques, he utilizes both Shadowfall and Whirlwind Slash, alongside a new move that wouldn’t be out of place in the shinobi text. Furthermore, the aspect of shinobi tools is something while cool, adding so much will end up overwhelming the player at this stage, and not to mention you wouldn’t want to put all that into base modded game boss fights when Inner fights also exists, and you want to save up adding new things for that as well.

Foster Father doesn't use as many tools as the Great Shinobi variant and it's good to keep it this way to mantain the original charaterization of these bosses.

@@revisit8480 a little late to the party, but you can test it with Hanbei, the tutorial man who stands outside of dilapidated temple, your posture fills up even if you deflect, but will never break as long as you don't miss a deflect. Should you miss a deflect, it will register as a block, and instead of the high pitched clashing sound you hear in this video, you'll hear a lower pitched sound. this video is legit man
