Smooth fillings last longer? Never heard that before but I do know that using a rubber dam for isolation rather than cotton rolls does improve longevity because it eliminates possible contamination from oral fluids during placement. Control of contamination also allows the dentist to properly place the composite material in small increments which has repeatedly been shown to improve adaptation and marginal integrity.

What if the dentist missed some of the cavity... I had a filling done and i can tell he missed part of the friggin cavity like i can still see a black spot on part of the tooth like what the hell man

Black means the cavity is arrested. Sticky yellow is decay.

Why do you need to actually remove the decay? Does it no stop progressing if you seal it from the outside environment?

Has that black spot of decay in the first molar reached the dentin? If it has not and the decay was just on the enamel, can't it be left without a filling so that it would remineralize?

It would get worse over time why risk a bad toothache that can be prevented with a small filling vs a root canal if it gets left alone no pain does not always mean there is nothing wrong my dentist doesnt charge me

well im sure you had it done but no it wont hurt. you only get put under for a surgery. other wise it would take too long for dentist to work and be to expensive. i just had two teeth pulled and i was awake for it.
