And that they're the only lifeform on the planet that doesn't also have magic powers, for some reason. Making humans the Isekai. Probably. And so, they for realsie slammed. And God looked upon his creation, and then looked away, pretending not to see. And it wasn't good. But good enough.

I actually got curious and googled "Harkness Test". Here's what I found: Harkness Test refers to a hypothetical set of guidelines in which it would be permissible to have sexual intercourse with a fictional, non-human creature. The criteria are: 1. "Does this character have human intelligence (or greater)?" 2. "Can it talk or otherwise communicate with language?" 3. "Is it of sexual maturity for its species?" He probably doesn't want to think about it too much. If I had to guess, I'd say the average Pokemon intelligence is that of a 3 - 5 year old. This is, of course, excluding extremely intelligent Pokemon like Mewtwo.

It's in the Diamond and Pearl games, there's a library that has a book that states that a long time ago, Pokemon and humans were seen as one and the same, no difference between the two, in original Japanese translations, even goes to say that Pokemon and humans married to one another, and that this was a common occurrence. You can't get more canon than the Japanese version of the games. The history of Pokemon has humans and Pokemon marrying each other. At some point, this changed as humans decided to create balls to capture them, erasing the equality between the two. While it's no longer a common occurrence, I wouldn't be surprise if some still practice it in the comfort of their own home. Also, nothing in the anime or games explicitly states that it's been illegalized if you stop and think about it. Heck, we've even seen in the anime that some of the Pokemon that Ash has met, may or may not still hold those ancient believes too as they tend to get a bit too friendly with him, such as Ash's Bayleef, and Latias from that one Pokemon movie. In Pokemon Coliseum, there's an old lady who says that her boyfriend is a Mightyena, so such practices is still being done in modern times in the games.
