The mention of the crowds recording King Charles III's proclamation on cameraphones actually left me in awe. Queen Elizabeth's reign started in this black and white film in theaters and the dawn of television in a few homes...and concluded in 4K color available to view on portable devices practically anywhere around the world. Truly glorious weathering the advances in technology and the rollercoasters of global politics with grace and dignity.

Here on this 10th day of September in the year of our most gracious and glorious Lord 2022 after watching the proclamation of King Charles lll. Only noticeable difference was the way the year was said, hats off to the high levels of tradition.

No, it’s not word for word. For example, the phrase ‘Gentlemen of Quality’ was omitted for reasons only God and those involved know.

Happened just recently as it happened in 1952. Traditions are a thing of beauty; unfortunately the modern world has an artificial desperation for ignoring them.

My country abolished Monarchy in 1946 and since then the new republic, like all others, has neglected our national history and our traditions. People have forgotten their identity and their sense of national pride and despise their country and traditions like those of the UK. I envy the English because of this.

Monarchies aren't perfect (what human system is?) but they have something that other types of government don't have: the entire thing of leadership isn't abstract or restricted to the cold letter of law, but literally a family surrounded by concrete symbols of governance and History. This is true when, for instance, some countries asked foreign royals to be their monarchs instead of inventing them out of thin air. Seems fancy but could've been an advantage in Germany in 1919: the embodiment of Germany itself, Kaiser Wilhelm II, would never accept a Hitler to get so much importance.

I wonder if any one of those people present considered that their new Queen might reign until 2022. I suppose the memory of Queen Victoria's long tenure was only 50 years old at that point... so, possibly!
