Selecting a new Herd Bull at JMS Polled Herefords

In this video, we take a road trip to Knifely, KY to JMS Polled Herefords to select a new Herd Bull. We always love visiting his farm! He has a large operation. He has been raising Victor Domino cattle his whole life and we learn so much from him. He is always willing to spend time with us showing us around and answering questions. We have been visiting with him for several years now. It's still hard to believe how consistent his cattle are every year! Check them out at:

back in Scotland, granted, not England, home of the Hereford, 40 plus years ago, Herefords were red, with a white head and neck, and wore 4 white socks......what happened?

Through the years in our areas,the desirable trait is having less chrome(white). Being as we are selling a product for our customers that’s what we want to produce. We personally like more white. Thanks so much for watching our videos and for your comment!

Good for you for choosing polled cattle, disbudding and dehorning is completely avoidable and unnecessary. Simply if u don’t want horns get polled! Keep up the good farming!
