Awesome video. You guys touched on so much for parents to understand, but unfortunately, most won't understand. When I say understand, I really mean comprehend because they are so entrapped by the travel ball world of more tournaments are better, and more showcases are better. As a parent of a JUCO player and a big Div I commit, we have received an education about the college recruiting process (at all levels), and you guys are on point! Really enjoy what you guys are doing! I look forward to more of these....

7:32 as far as strength training goes look at Mike Boyle (he was a strength coach for the Red Sox). Also the strength coach from TCU is great too.

Picked a travel team for my 12u daughter that they are usually around .500. She will get full playing time, the facilities are awesome and the coaches are solid dudes. If you are playing 40-60 games, you have to enjoy the ppl you surround your child with. She doesn’t need rings every weekend. I want her to develop and play against better competition.

Awesome content, will have my kids ay 2 spotrs tell high school if there mire dedicated to more one than the other. My son baseball and soccer.loves both and he's itching for base ball right now but we have 4 plus inches of snow still and 34 degrees. No indoor area to practice besides home. He's 6 just like your kids age. Looking forward to the under 10 video.

Hey, thanks for the videos, they are most helpful for perspective. I'm a little frustrated with this one because many travel ball organizations are detrimental to rec leagues. The same thing happenes with club soccer. I'm wondering what your thoughts and ideas are where they can both exist.

Great video guys! There is a local high school by us that my son wants to go to and play for their team. We found out the coach has a separate travel team that he runs. Would that be the best option for my son? He does not want to play professionally but just for high school.

Hey guys thanks for the confirmation on player development. My son plays for driveline and their youth program is in the beginning stages, but they are more focused on development than winning games. What would you recommend if the players aren't able to translate their developmental gains to wins? Do keep them there or find another program?
@YouGoPro3 жыл бұрын
I think every situation is different. I’d probably have a chat with my son if he was old enough to understand. There’s a lot that makes a good team like good parents, good coaches, distance from home, schedule, etc. A lot of moving pieces besides just wins/loses and development. Hard to say without knowing your exact situation.

Waste of money. You don't need any recruiting services to help your son play at the next level. #1 focus on helping your son be the absolute best player he can be #2 when he is ready, make sure someone that the college coach trusts watches him play.

@@pk1237 I do not have experience with high academic schools, so you could be right for that exception. Thank you for pointing that out, I would never want to give bad advice to any family. Congratulations to your son and your family for his college commitment! For high level, mid-level Div I, and low level JUCO, I do have experience though, and from what we experienced, recruiting services had nothing to do with it, or any other player on their roster. I do not have any experience with DCAT either, so I don't know their results. This topic would be a HUGE area to put on camera for parents to understand when they are needed, if at all. Everyone is constantly hit up with their emails, etc. I just don't want parents to believe every email/phone call promise that they can get their son a scholarship (for just $xxx, a month) just for signing up for their service. Again, thanks for pointing out a possible exception to my earlier comment. I hope more parents get involved socially to help others.

Need help guys. Is it better to join a very competitive team but your son's role would be Pitcher Only or join a C team where your son gets to bat, field, and pitch on a less competitive team? My son will be playing 14U.

But today it's all about the money there's so many tournaments, different teams and alot of teams are backed by former MLB players. So the average kid that is very athletic that has a lot of good skill, respectful and works really hard he has no chance in getting in the MLB. It's all about who you know not what you know.
