Mo B I hear this a lot that Jesus is a friend of sinners. That's a big misconception. In Matthew 11:19 Jesus was addressing what people were accusing Him of being, not what was true "The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and THEY say, Behold, a gluttonous man and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners! Yet wisdom is vindicated by her deeds." He was simply addressing what He was being accused of. In John 15:14 Jesus says "You are My friends IF you do what I command you." The definition of a sinner is one who has broken the laws of God and a rebellious one. That's not keeping the commandments of God, further proving that Jesus was not a friend of sinners, but that He came to call sinners to repentance, He cares for the lost souls. But one can become His friend if they repent, believe the Gospel, and follow Him, forsaking their old ways, and best of all, will have eternal life.

If you've never worshipped God as a sinner then you've probably never worshipped God because we are all sinners. I'm glad God has touched her in such a way that she would sing a song in public for Him. I don't know if you've noticed, but being a Christian in the circular world is not really the most popular thing. So the fact that she was able to sing a song for God is probably a big step in her journey with Him. As Jesus said to the Pharisees who wanted to judge the adulterous woman, "He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her." Uummm I'm out :)

This is awesome, I love how Selena mentioned that it's not about her, or Hillsong or what's happening on the platform it's about God and Jesus' grace. Those who chose to worship her in this moment missed the point, but this is an amazing thing because we are in this world , and the world belongs to God. Just because on artist doesn't always sing about Jesus explicitly shouldn't divide them from using a platform to praise him and bring people towards him. KillerWarriorX hi killer! i think you have a misinterpretation of who God really is. a huge thing about christianity is this idea of free will. people do as they do on earth, and time moves on. this is really important as if there were no bad in the world, loving God serves no purpose. also, another common misconception is how God uses his power. many people assume that "you pray and it comes true" but thats not how it works. God works in a way that doesn't suit the person, but suits himself. say someone is dying, and someone prays for said person not to die. that person dies. God answered the prayer, but maybe not in the way the person wished so. maybe God ended the life because he needed to show the praying person how life is short and to live it to its fullest - that kind of stuff. there is seriously so much more about the religion then what shows on the surface. (also dont let the bad christian's skew ur image of christianity. christianity is about loving God and people, and if they are unable to do that, question them for me!)

Of course by her fruit we will see, but is she going to be perfect? No. But God can and does work within us to prune us to become more like him. "Let he without sin cast the first stone." I think this applies to you here, as well as many others who have attacked her for faith. Instead of coming on KZbin to criticize others, look inwardly and correct your pride. Because God wants you to work on yourself first, not others. I've avoided replying to the insane amount of ludicrous comments on here until now. But seriously man, go read some scripture, and learn to love how Jesus loved. With a radical, scandalous love. Learn to love others, and treat them as your siblings in Christ, who are trying. WOW. This was amazing, beautiful, and moving! A lovely praise to the Father. I think it's wonderful that she acknowledged God and proclaimed the unmatched love that He has not only for her but for ALL of us. She didn't sing in private but instead unashamedly shared it knowing that the world would not only know of her love for the Lord, but judge her for it too. It's so easy for people to condemn. Shame. I love that God is working in her heart. The only thing that concerns me is some parts of the way she lives which are of the world, judging by her songs and how she presents herself. I do not know if she is repenting from fornication or other sexual sins, which I can only assume based on pictures of her and Justin and the content she has put out there, but I know one cannot live in the world and be a true Christian. I do not know her in real life but I will have to see how she continues on. And I am also concerned about people praising her instead of Our father and not getting the point. I love her so much. I grew up watching her on Disney & I've been in such awe with her from her acting to her beauty to her music. I absolutely adore the person she is. She gets so much hate but no one knows that she's this down to earth, kind, funny beautiful girl who has this big heart. Yes she sings about worldly things but she's open about her faith & she knows that God has a plan for her life. Y'all are so quick to judge, dang.
