Watching her explain how it feels when she wakes up had me tearing up because that's exactly how I feel almost everyday for the last 20 years battling Lupus. Criticizing someone's fluctuating weight when that person is fighting an incurable disease is pretty sh!tty. Treat people the way you would want to be treated. I'm glad Selena is bringing more awareness to this terrible disease. If you saw me in person you would never know that I'm sick. You would never know that I've been a size 00 all the way to a size 8 and back. I have more stretch marks from prednisone than from all 4 of my pregnancies combined. I've been to the brink of death and back atleast 3 times, so I've never been the one to really care about what other people think but I would never say something mean or criticize someone's weight. Just be kind to one another.

I mean right down to modern women having to bully, body shame, dehumanize, publically humiliate men for things they can never help about their bodies such as penis size etc. These people(Mostly women) are just cruel. Men do not get away with making extremely cruel bodily remarks like this especially publically without being instantly cancelled and having everyone come down on you like a ton of bricks. Whereas most modern women are celebrated and encouraged for body shaming and making all sorts of completely unnecessary remarks on peoples bodies, just to make these people feel more shitty about themselves of course, usually at a time when they are struggling the most mentally. The same sort of women of course who will share a meme on facebook claiming how much they are about mens mental health and body posititvity though haha

@lydiacoffey2003 Жыл бұрын
@@verogzalez390 I know it’s so easy to be scared, my parents were and so was I. Scariest time of my life!! All I can say is it is rare and it is manageable. He’s already so strong fighting type one diabetes!! As he gets older it will get harder especially as a teenager (most teens rebel against type one which is what my sister and I did). I can’t stress enough how important mental health is for type one diabetics, my mental health and the exhaustion of dealing with it is what made me sick!! If I could go back and not feel so much pressure from the doctors and peers around being “perfect” I would involving my sugar control. Keep being a strong parent and just be there for them no matter what comes with their type one!! You are so strong it is so hard being a parents of a type one as well!! Milk thistle helped my liver a lot and getting through those teen years of ignoring my type one!! The pressure of A1C can really effect how we manage our diabetes and deal with the shame and guilt of not always being perfect!! Managing sugars is what healed my kidneys before it got to far! Although my liver is still struggeling it is manageable and I hope it doesn’t come to that point for your son!! Stay strong diabetes isn’t something to fear or be sad about, one piece of advice is it isn’t “dooms day” it’s a blessing. It made me stronger, more aware of my health, more in tune with my mental health, and I am part of a community of very strong people INCLUDING YOU as a strong parent!!! Xoxo 🤍

My heart broke seeing her cry in pain. I think 2 singers that I’m thinking of had or has that but I had forgotten much about it until now. I may not know fully everything about it but I do feel for her. It’s important to set healthy boundaries & take care of ourselves. It’s ok to say no. I applaud her bravery in coming forward. She’s someone young girls & older can truly look up too & to know they aren’t alone. Never be ashamed of who you are, or of what you’re going through. Always be yourself & that’s what I love about her. She stays true to herself. It’s so sad people rather judge & bring others down instead of showing empathy, understanding & lifting people up. Kill them with kindness it’s so true. Like I’ve always said, if someone treats you bad, treat them better bc it shows their character. This world needs more love than hate. No one will truly understands what another is simply going through until they go through it themselves. I may not fully understand what she’s going through but I’m sure many can. Even though what I’m going through isn’t the same, but I struggle with my own issues with Fibromyalgia. I felt ashamed etc but now I’m not anymore. We can’t control what we have. So that’s why we should speak up when we can without any shame & educate ourselves & others. While surrounding ourselves with people who will support & love us. Much love ☺️🙏🏻♥️

I’m not in the same boat but a similar one. I very recently found out I have celiac disease. All my life I was bloated and my body held onto water easily and my face is huge and red all the time. I had no idea my body was fighting itself 24/7. All my life I tried dieting and exercise and nothing worked. I could eat salad and drink water every day still gain weight. When I found out I had an autoimmune disease and changed everything I ate to match what my body needs, I started losing weight. My bloat went down so much this past month alone that I was able to buy smaller pants. So I know it’s not the same as Selena but my point is, I’ve been ridiculed my whole life for being puffy and people have argued with me saying I must be a lazy slob since I’m so fat and in reality I had a severe medical issue that I’m VERY FORTUNATE did not turn into cancer before I caught it

I truly empathize with you Selena. Both my mother had and my daughter does have Lupus (SLE). The amount of pain the body goes through, day after day, takes it's toll. My mother passed away from it and my daughter deals with it now. People have NO IDEA what those that suffer from SLE (or any chronic, autoimmune illnesses) the shear pain go through. My daughter also has Lupus Nephritis which caused her to lose both of her kidneys. She was blessed with a "new to her" kidney and has done beautifully with it. After the transplant, she no longer needed dialysis. My point is, it amazes me how some people are so quick to mock, make fun of or ridicule others on how they look...without even taking a second to think, "wow, maybe that person is dealing with something pretty awful." I know that most of those people wouldn't be able to deal with that pain for a few minutes let alone their ENTIRE lives.

She’s a fake person, turned on the friend that gave her a FREAKIN KIDNEY. Her friend suffers now without it, and yet does not say anything about the kidney. Selena referred to her as “someone i know” wouldn’t even say her name. And completely ghosted her!! Talk about “fake friend” then she goes on to continue drinking heavily even tho her kidneys can’t handle it , she was given a brand new one by a friend, which means her friend francia had to sacrifice one of her own kidneys shortening her own life so Selena could survive. Selena repays her bye ignoring her, ghosting her, and not even saying her name and saying taylor is her best friend. You wanna talk about fake people? well your looking right at one.

In January 2018, I weighed 140 pounds at 5 feet 7 inches (female) and was a long distance cyclist and crossfitter. In July 2018, I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. I was prescribed a sh*t tonne of HEAVY, hardcore medication which not only caused an IMMENSE amount of inflammation / water weight, it damaged my gut lining, digestion, metabolism ... and a whole lot of other things. I had to stop all physical activities because of the horrendous, unimaginable pain in my joints and within 10 months I gained over 84 pounds of weight, a lot of it being water retention. The lack of respect, judgement, the side eyes, the whispering behind my back and segregation I felt within such a short period of time, was the hardest to deal with. If people literally can't see your disability / illness physically, they don't take you or your pain seriously. The number of times I've heard " but you look fine.. you've just put on some weight. If you lose it, you might feel better," is more than I care to count. *It gets so tiring.* It's hard as an every day, normal citizen. I can't imagine what it would be like being a celebrity, where every part of your life, is exposed for the whole world to comment and pick at ...

I admire her confidence so highly as any and all types of medicine can effect you immensely. As someone who takes meds for ADHD (which I know is totally different), it effects me massively and it’s not surprising to see that other medicines do the same thing.
