I never get tired of watching Selena’s videos, I love seeing her transitioning from young girl to a woman on video, I love how she evolved her style of clothing, hair, and dancing. She was my role model when I was 11-12 yrs old. I saw her once in concert. Unforgettable experience. She shook my hand even though she was done shaking everyone’s hands that were in front of me, but they were all adults and I was 12. She then made eye contact with me and I could read her lips saying “You?” And pointing at me to come closer to her and the crowd of people let me squeeze by them so that I could reach up and shake her hand, talk about making me feel special, she really made me feel special that night ❤️ The day she passed I was getting out of school that Friday afternoon. My mom picked me up and told me that Selena had been shot and had passed away. I didn’t want to believe it, at first I thought “no way!!! This has to be an early April Fools joke!” But then we get home and the news is broadcasting all the details of what happened to her, and that was when I knew it wasn’t a joke. That my idol was gone! I cried so much for so long, I still cry today. She was going up and up in her stardom when she appeared in Dos Mujeres Un Camino and then hearing that she was filming a movie that starred Johnny Depp. I was so excited and happy for her, to hear any little news story about what she was gonna do next and so on. She was really going places, not just with her music, she was going to be in movies and God only knows what else she would have accomplished 😢 Mr Quintanilla, my condolences to you and your family, your daughter will always have a place in so many hearts, especially mine. I loved her like as if she was part of my family. It hurts so much that she’s not here.

That’s right Mr. Abraham Quintanilla and I witnessed it. I saw and knew Selena y Los Dinos way before they became famous and added all the other members that came later. This is the band I first heard of and loved right here! Way back in 1983 when I heard of them and followed them up until the end. The 80’s were my favorite years of them. Then I saw them blossom into the 90’s it was so incredible being an eye witness of how they progressed and became even more talented. The first song I heard in 1983 was, ‘Estoy Contigo”. I just had to find out who that beautiful young voice belonged to. I love all her music from the 80’s. Sorry, brother Quintanilla for the loss of your beloved daughter. I can’t even imagine your loss. We will see her in Paradise soon. From Houston Texas

ruben rivera Yes - their distinct sound , so different from other Tejano bands, was kind of their trademark, due to Selena's unmistakable voice, and their stylistic versatility. They were doing things no one else in the market was doing, like incorporating elements of R&B and Raggae into their music. Very "cutting edge" stuff!

I miss her a lot. I wish she was still here with us. It still makes me very sad and emotional that she's not here. But when I saw her in 1995 in her coffin I cried like a baby. That was one of the most saddest things I've ever gone through. Selena means the world to me. 😇😇😇. But now she's my Angel up in Heaven.

+Ruben Rivera : I know exactly how you feel. For the longest time after finding Selena's music, I couldn't listen to it without crying, knowing what had been done to her. Sometimes, I still do. I first heard her voice in the Summer of '95 - "Dreaming of You" was all over the radio here in New York State -:and even though I didn't know a lot about her yet, I was captivated by its beauty. I remember it like it was yesterday. Then, in 1997, I saw "Selena" for the first of many, many times, and I instantly became a huge fan then and there. To this day, she's pretty much all I listen to. I finally got to Corpus in 2011, where I met Abraham at the HI HO Mexican restaurant - of course, you know Selena ate there all the time - and also Suzette and her husband Billy at the Selena Museum, where they both work. They are the nicest people you could ever meet, and it was an experience I'll never forget. I consider Selena to be the greatest artist in history, and I love her not only for her music, but because she was also so humble and kind, and did so much good for so many people. She's been a huge inspiration to me in my life, and I will be a fan, and honor her memory, forever.

It's so funny how everyone (fans) thinks they/WE all knew Selena in person before she passed away, bringing up family/personal business 21 years later. Can we all just LOVE, ADMIRE AND HAVE RESPECT for Selena. Her legacy, music, talent, achievements, dreams, personality, soul and heart was endless, pure and beautiful. Why do we need to ask for anything more? Everyone talks about her, her family, her love life, Chris Perez's show, ETC. as if we HAVE to know every single detail that went on (like its owed to us) and then come on social media to argue and act like we know everything as if we were there with her in person. Can't we just be grateful and accept whats already given? Geez!

Okay Mr. Quintanilla, while I thoroughly appreciate and am thankful for your video post since I have been a die hard fan of Selena since the age of 6, I quite frankly have a problem with your caption. First off Selena married Chris despite your wishes; therefore, he was brought into the family per her decision. It was your decision to ultimately bring him into band in order to enhance your music quality which you obviously saw potential in happening via hiring him. One could also make an observation that many of her hit songs were those of which Chris was the lead guitarist as well as AB Quintanilla. You mentioned that you changed out guitarists "like socks" and yet you never replaced Chris Perez following his acceptance into the band. You also mentioned the Coca Cola sponsorship at which I am pretty certain that Chris Perez aided in both the lyrics and musical theme of the commercial Selena starred in; do correct me if I am wrong. Yes you were the businessman behind the group as a whole, and no one can trump your skill set in managing your own family corporation. It just seems as though the issues surrounding the legality of this book of Chris Perez being made into a show is more about money and credit as opposed to prevention of slandering a name or outing an alternative perspective or truth. Why now are you worried about the book becoming more? Is not that what you worked so hard to do with the " recording contracts with companies, creation of music, Coca Cola sponsorship, and many other business deals?" Is not this all for the legacy of Selena?

LOVE SICK SOUND Chris is a good guy. Its easy to see...he doesn't try to gain attention, hes very reserved .He has no reason to make things up about Selena. He loved her. I think if Chris possibly included Abraham in the project, maybe gave him a summary/script on each episode of this tv series he has in mind, that would be fair. He loves letting us fans in-he sees how much it means to us. I truly believe he would do this tv series in the best taste... I think if they ALL worked together they could create something amazing. Stories turned into episodes from everyones favorite memory of Selena & being on tour. Real stories! Not like the show in the works based off a book of lies written by that woman. THIS is the tv show the world really needs. Mr.Quintanilla, Please consider working together on this project. Chris isn't trying to make money here. He just wants to share his love for the beautiful Selena with her amazing fans & continue her legacy. Just like you. Take care ❤

Also,they constantly use name Quintanilla instead Perez, I think Abraham trying very hard to erase name Perez before his life is over ( 78 years old ) he is def.wierd dude,for sure. Loool the description😂grow up Abraham. Also, the harsh truth is that your ‘own’ ‘family’ band only got better with the introduction of other talented members like Pete Astudillo, Joe ojeda, Ricky Vela and yes The Chris Perez that you hate so much... without the addition of the talent of their songwriting, production skills.. Selena y los Dinos wouldn’t have been as successful to be quite frankly honest. I do wish you put this much hateful energy towards the real threat that was Yolanda. Selena may still have been here :(
@juliaestefaniahuertamuhamm31154 жыл бұрын
Yes it would've been quite successful because in the end people wanted to watch Selena perform...no one has her tone of voice...she was unique...nobody sounds like her to this day...not even her speaking voice I have heard from no one lol she was a rare talent...she definitely had a gift from God...but yes the others rock too in the end lol xP
