Might I suggest, for your puckering issue on the waterproof canvas, that since you're increasing the seam allowance that you clip just a little bit deeper which will allow that fabric to lay nicer for you.

Hi Kassiah, I just finished the 3rd bag like this. I used your video for extra guidance. I love all your videos and hope you continue to post new things. About my bag, I printed my pattern at 90 percent and I love the size this one turned out. The other two I made I used 100 percent, but this is my favorite size. I also used D rings and tabs to attach my handles to. I did the exact thing to my zipper that you did. Thank you again for all your wonderful video tutorials! You are my favorite!

Kassiah a tailoring trick is to cut 1/4" off the gusset just at the corners. That way the distance is shorter in the corner 😀👍

Fantastic tutorial! I’ve made 3 of these. One of the easiest gussets to sew. I’ve made these with both foam and decovil light. I like decovil light much better. I sew the top zip at 1/8 the seam, join both bags the 1/4 inch vs 3/8 and top stitch from the inside while pulling the lining fabric down to allow the top zip to close perfectly. You should try it!

When you increase the seam allowance in the lining, you're shortening the length around the side panels without shortening the length of the gusset.

Hi, I have not used the canvas, but I was wondering if when cutting the gusset lining piece you graduate the size to accommodate for the stitch alterations and then keep the seam allowance the same and since the excess material will be remove when cutting it out should reduce the puckering???

Thank you for doing this video, I am sewing my Selene bag now while I am watching your video. I wanted to share that when you sew the slip pocket and you do the part for the pen I came up 2 inches from the bottom of the pocket just were the pen goes and sewed a line of stiches across that area so my pen would not slip down to far and it would be hard to get the pen out. Just an idea .
@LuvMyCardiKids3 жыл бұрын
I’m with you on the pen pocket. The first thing I thought when I saw her sew that was that the pen would slide down and you’d have a dilly of a time getting it out of the bottom of that pocket.
