i was very surprised at this guide and i thought at 3:40 you were going to make the mistake that many other "optimization guides" make telling people to enable their cpu cores, but in fact you are making sure that if anyone followed a different guide that they NOW have the right settings. lots of very informative stuff in this video such as the recommendation of 64 bit apps etc. fantastic video! this covers basically every major performance impact that can be had on your computer which is the whole idea. only other thing i could possibly recommend would take much longer in a video but to simply show what to selectively disable in the "Privacy" settings, and also "Background apps", not that the privacy one impacts performance a whole ton anyway

Yes, I saw that it was incorrect in many other recommendations. You are knowledgeable to pick that one up...

Thank you. Very good guide. Windows 10 x64 user. When i do clean install i set to OFF almost all the options in Settings. First - User account OFF. Control Panel > Sound > Sounds > Sound Scheme. No sounds. Uncheck "Play windows start-up sound" In System > Advance system settings: - Uncheck "Alow Remote assistance & connections" - System protection - Set to OFF all the drives. I never use a Restore Point. For who wants to speed up a normal mouse (600-800 dpi) : Control Panel > Mouse > Pointer Options > Select a pointer speed. Set it to max. Then you can set the speed of double click speed in "Buttons". It was a guide to set "Ïndexing Options" but i forgot it... Sorry.

When i become hopeless then thought to upgrade the ram and buy the ram , meanwhile i was thinking and got idea that lets check this topic" in KZbin how to run faster windows10 "...then watched and followed your video and applied 2 or 3 functions as you shown.. I can't tell you my excitement of happiness how much i am happy with my laptop its very very very fast now and the same software now fully fast running and no hang on clicking and now the same software showing their option quick quick as per click speed. Before when i would click to stop the software so it would got hang then i compile to restart my laptop.. Now from your video my very big chronic problem has been solved your video saved me from big tension it saved my time and saved my money too. I boot probably four times faster now, and the first time I rebooted, it was so fast, I thought something went wrong, but it's great! Some of that stuff, I didn't even know could be safely removed (Like Cortana, which I can't even use, because I have no microphone!) Thank you and bless you! All good wishes.

I am sympathetic with replacing Windows with a Linux distro. Believe me, I've come within minutes of pulling the trigger myself with Manjaro. Still might. My new Intel-based Chromebook (when delivered) will have Windows running in a VM. If it weren't for irreplaceable programs, I'd have left Windows a while ago. Still, the instructions here can make a difference in speed and enjoyability. I always celebrate greater efficiency and enhanced function of a device, even if it's not my first choice hardware/software.
