Great video! Please ignore the person that wanted you to talk faster. Most of the people watching this video are not very computer savvy… That’s why they’re watching this video. You’ve got way more accolades for your presentation than complaints about not talking fast enough. FYI when I watch other tech videos, I have to slow the speed down because I don’t know what I’m doing. Thank you again for making this video soo clear and concise.

I call bullshit, mainly due to it being 9 years old, unless you've reinstalled windows and started fresh, and the fact you don't have an SSD tells me you gained enough back due to clearing old files and making space on your HDD, that it somewhat sped it up, but not 90%. That's a windows reinstall level of performance my dude.

I am not technically a gamer in this pc (i used to) but when i did play games it ran in maximum 10 fps. even using normally, it had underperformed all of the time. IT Engineer here: here comes an unpopular position. But it isn't to be popular, it is to be true. You absolutely don't know, what you are doing. Disabling many services, because "they do nothing, just slow down your computer". Firstly, the don't really slow down your computer, secondly, you disable features and create security holes with disabling those services. In professional environments, it is completely unacceptable, what you are doing, but never mind, you are targeting home users. Many services you disable, are NOT RUNNING! See 17:35, thea are set to Manual start. It means, that Windows starts them, when they are needed for something, they don't slow your PC. But if you disable them, they can't be startet when needed, and you get an error. Examples: Application Management: Used mainly in professional evironments, but some software installers need it. If you disable it, you get nothing. But if you want to install a software it needs this service, you will fail to install it, and you won't know, why. Than comes "stupid software", "stupid microsoft". No. Stupid you, because you disabled it. Application Layer Gateway Service: networking subsystem for non-microsoft networking protocols. Mostly you don't need it. It's also not runing! But for example you want to install an OpenVPN solution, you will need it! But it won't work, because you disabled it. Connected User Experience and Telemetry: this service collects and sends data to microsoft, you want to disable it, understandable. How pity, if you restart your computer, will be enabled again. You have to disable the scheduled task also. How pity, some UWP Apps NEED this service to install and run. Some .NET Framework Updates will fail, if you disable this service. Do you want windows not to send your data to microsoft? Okay, disable this from Group Policies. Like a System Administrator who knows what he/she is doing... If you disable the service you did nothing but problems for yourself. Delivery Optimization: it doesn't run, runs only when Windows Update needs it. If you disable it, the only thing you achieve, is problems with your Windows Update. So you have absolutely no idea, how these services are working, and you don't know what you are doing by disabling them. Will your Windows 10 be faster? Perhaps. With 1%. Insignificantly. But you probably fuck up your system and create a bunch of stability or security problems for yourself. The first part of the video is very good. But disabling services? Don't do it, because you are a monkey with a HE-Grenade. Even worse is "1-Click Mainternance". You have absolutely no control, what this software does. Mostly deletes orphaned folders and a bunch of cache files and registry keys. The only thing you can achieve is some (a few 10 or 100 megabytes of) free space. But you probably don't know how complex system Windows is and how it works. I personally have experience with such software deleting some "unnecessary" regsitry keys, and some programs didn't start anymore. Or some functions won't work properly anymore. CCleaner had an issue that it deleted a registry key, and some VPN software didn't work anymore. These software are working with the placebo effect: the feeling that you 'cleaned up' your windows makes you feel it faster. But you have absolutely no idea, what happened in the background. You can open security holes with it, and you don't know it. Absolutely NO-GO. Disabling blotware and some unnecessary features are okay, if it disturbes you, do it. I feel it better to do it from the Windows GUI, and not with 3rd-party software, because on the Windows GUI you know what you are doing. But it's okay. Turbo mode: where is my shotgun!!! Man! You disable essential services. You disable the Security Center?? Disabling the Shell Hardware Detection service? You won't able to connect a WIA Scanner... Your AutoPlay won't work. etc. You disable Storage Service??? OMFG. System Events Broker? Task Scheduler? Those are absolutely essential services. All of your Software Updaters are working with Task Scheduler. Look it, there are a few dozen of scheduled tasks working in the background. Your browser won't update anymore -> security hole... So I appreciate that you wanted to help people to get their PCs faster with Windows 10. But THIS is dangerous and contraproductive. I am an Enterprise Operations Engineer with over 200.000 managed Windows 10 Endpoints. And I tell you - DON'T. FUCKING. DO. IT.

I wanted to say another thing, one of the reasons I really enjoy your video Paul is because you don't talk too fast. Every video I have watched regarding getting help with any PC, I find that the person talks so fast and they go through what they are doing too quickly. If a person has 2 or 3 monitors, it isn't so bad and following along doesn't present such a difficult task. However, having a small laptop and working off one monitor, and constantly re-watching a 20 second part of a clip over and over again; so you can understand what they are doing, because the person presenting has just slammed 2 red bulls is so annoying. Paul thanks for keeping it simple and speaking clearly, and at a good cadence and not rushing through things so quick, you are the only person that actually speaks and presents at a decent pace for anyone...peace.

Hello Paul and everyone. I came across this video after my very old (12 years) windows 10 desktop had slowed to a crawl and sometimes standstill. I was suspicious at first as I had downloaded some software that promised to clean my PC up and speed it up. It was pretty ineffective, and I thought this is just another attempt at getting some subscriptions. However I followed the instructions and then purchased the software, and I can say it really works. Whereas my PC took 150 secs on average to start up it will now start up in less than half that time. Once open it is much faster as well. Previously it took about 160 seconds to open Affinity 2 photo editor but now takes around 40 seconds. The only caveat I would add is to be very conservative when following the first two sections of free advice. I disabled something when doing this and it took much longer to open - several minutes - but after I purchased the software and ran the advanced programs it corrected whatever I had done and it now runs fast and sweet. Highly recommended.

Gamers take note: I have an I7-7700K, 16G with a GTX-1080 and a Viotek GNV34DBE 4K 144Mhz Ultra-Wide monitor and as we all know, my rig is getting a bit dated now. I play a lot of modded Skyrim with 4K textures, etc. and although I've got a 4K monitor, my FPS was just too low (35-ish or so) to really utilize it. So I played at 2560x1080 and the game looked very nice, but had occasional stutters. I just lived with it. With Paul's advice and his software - mainly get rid of all that crap running in the background because as he said, no one knows what all that sh*t is or what it's for - I'm now able to run at 3440x1440, have added more visual mods and it runs smooth as silk (only ~47-50 FPS, but hey, it works). Needless to say, the game is absolutely mind-blowing running in 4K. Paul, thank you so much! My order will be in later tonight after the wife gets off her rig! As in all how-to videos, make sure you know what each step is doing. For example, He mentioned not deleting downloads if it shows up, which implies there are options, meaning other optional folders might show up. If you’re not sure about any item, don’t select it, but check it out manually. There may be some downloaded files you no longer need, so take a few minutes to inspect it. As far as the ‘free’ program, obviously it’s reduced function, hoping you want the paid features. The bottom line is that he is really saying “Trust me!” This is my first time seeing this particular program, so I’m somewhat cautious.

Are you beeing extreme masochistic on purpose? Please exchange your (spinning) hard drive from the stone age for a SSD! Why, EVERY PC/laptop using a hard drive is unusable slow when using Windows 8 or newer. Clone your hard drive to a ssd and then exchange the hdd for the ssd. Turn on your PC/Laptop and those numbers you mentioned in MINUTES are more like SECONDS! Every click through the file explorer, every program startup is SO MUCh faster using a ssd instead of a hdd for the system drive. Why? Because newwer Windows versions constantly access the system drive for reading and writing purposes, so the drive is always used for diverse stuff and when you start a program, the drive is busy doing other things instead of JUSt doing what you just want at that time. A SSD is a turbo fast USB stick. No mechanics, magnitudes faster access and response times and overall faster + parallel tasks are absolutely no problem, whereas the performance gets crippled when multilple things access and/or read and/or write at the same time with a hdd. In the past (10+ years ago) ssds were expensive and had relatively low capacity. But that has changed dramatically. HDDs are nowadays ONLY used when a really high capacity is need jiust to store data (>2TB). For many years now, no one would use a hdd over a ssd as the system drive. NO ONE can be that much masochistic! So... if your "10-15 MINUTES instead of seconds" startup problem is due to the fact of you using a hdd instead of a ssd: I have to say that you suffered completely unnecessary for many years. Please exchange your system hdd for a ssd (like a samsung evo or crucial mx500 - that would be the choice for 2,5" sata (form factor) drives), please, I'm begging you! Then you feel what you could have had for full century. And thank me afterwards ;)

Hi, I really like how you deliver your content and using an app to make changes for windows to speed up, the premium version though have more value that other programs I knew (can't mention it here) and the pricing is just right, I might consider to get one just to support the author as a way to contribute. all these options are build into windows, this program is just a scam. its a work around to do the same thing as the services manager in windows, and deleting temp files and all of that. but worst of all, 99+% of this program is just placebo. it does not make your computer faster. if you want a faster computer get a faster storage device. processor power is not a bottleneck on modern computers. and all you need is 8+gb of ram. if you dont have 8+gb of ram jsut get a nother computer. because no matter what optimizations you do, your programs will not run well. windows also parks unneeded ram on your harddrive when it does not have enough memory available. so there is no need to stop services. and the work that these services perform is incredibly little. the telemetry service for examples only sends a single signal once a week. When your gaming, your sending tens to hundreds of those in a second. and its not even slowing your game down. the spyware/privacy leak section is history for your own use. it shows recently used files in your windows interface. it has NOTHING to do with anyone spying on you. this program is a SCAM. ccleaner is placebo too this guy is just a business man

E.g. cleanmgr /sageset:2 choose only certain things to clean, like, just the Recycle Bin. Then type cleanmgr /sagerun:2 press ENTER and Disk Cleanup will do just that one thing(s) you told it to.

Great tool, the first "cleaner" I have ever used/bought, thought they're all crap till today :) I usually disabled services etc. manually, your app saves me lots of time, my pc runs faster as when I do it manually, and i can even postpone the purchase of a new PC since my old laptop runs like a charm now. I have an improvement/change/feature request though ^^ In Turbo mode, there could be an additional menu where one could edit the default settings for the Windows process scheduler. There are a few programs I often use and like to give them more Miliseconds-CPU-time before the CPU core used is handed over to another process. It would be great if in Turbo Mode I could adjust those timings for a few selected programs/processes.
@Pegasun3 жыл бұрын
Awesome Marc! I really appreciate the feedback. And that's really cool, I never heard of those. Mind sending me some of those programs name? I'll test it out myself and see if it makes any difference. If it does, I'll def bring it to the dev team and implement it in Turbo mode.

@@Pegasun Usually I give all "VMWare Workstation Player" processes, Veracrypt (since the disks of my VMs are often encrypted) and the vmware-vmx.exe processes more CPU time when I use virtual machines. I do it manually each time, it's PITA, could probably write a script but I'm lazy. Some processes like vmware-vmx.exe are only started when a VM is switched on manually. Turbo mode would probably have to check for new processes that match my criteria periodically and then raise their priority in the OS. I usually put their priority to "high" using Windows Task Manager. Then I also switch the processes to high in the guest OS inside the VM, when using a Windows guest OS. I've never tried with a Linux guest OS yet, they usuall run fast enough. Anyway I'd have to benchmark from inside the Virtual Machines, but it's true I've never tested each setting alone. The combination of all manual settings let the VMs feel faster and much more responsive though, when also stopping the antivirus in both Host and Guest OS. If your application had a "process priority settings manager" it would be even greater ;-) An automatic setting "boost all your virtual machines" would be great too :-D
@Pegasun3 жыл бұрын
@@marckaeser3565 Gotcha. So basically, change the priority of desired applications to "high" when turbo mode is turned on. Sounds like an idea that can be done in future. But the problem is let's say the user picks a game (game.exe). I'm sure that game or VM would have bunch of additional services/exes running in the background. So, users would need to manually pick: game.exe, game_service1.exe, game_service2.exe, and so on. I don't think the program can figure out related process automatically. So, in a way, game.exe would be high priority, but rest of it's dependency will NOT be. So, I wonder how much it'll really even help.
