Our lack of self-acceptance is at the root of our false sense of self. We cannot be authentic, to know ourselves truly, until we've resolved this. And solitude offers us the space in which to cultivate self-acceptance and authenticity.

i like to be alone. Its my experience to always be disappointed in a relationship. I prefer solitude, its peaceful, unlike the constant turmoil, or less than ideal judgement of disapproval. I don't need the approval or love from others, you never know the real reason they express it. I can trust my own love for myself. I can be happy the most alone, i can sing and laugh at myself - my dogs love it and isn't that the most real point?

WOW!! THAT IS ME!! I’ve been changing the last 1-2 years and I think this is why! Retired and finding myself again after all the years of being gone…as a pilot…it’s learning who I am all over again. I never slowed down enough in my early life…family, career, chores,…doing it over and over. Once I retired, and the “board” smacked me in the back of the head, I have had a hard time with figuring out “who I am again!”

I love being alone! Always have loved it since I was a child. I do a lot of meditating and spiritual work so being alone for me is the best. After a breakup, I moved to the mountains for 2+ years and was in almost absolute solitude about 98% of the time. That was the highlight of my life and I would love to do that again.

Being alone is not necessarily being lonely. Freedom in life is touching the truth and knowing what you think, feel, believe and desire in our lives. Time with yourself and your thoughts and activities are essential to find your truth and your personal path in living with confidence and the mystery of becoming more creative and relaxed with the powers of your self worth and your own particular vibrations and visions. Relax and enjoy the blessings of being you in your truth and your adventure with your heart's desire.

I learned this when I was young and my grandmother would talk to me about how her siblings would criticize her. My grandmother taught me to trust myself, not judge other people too harshly, to keep my dignity, self respect and compassion. My grandmother also taught me to be independent which has allowed me to live freely and enjoy my time alone. 👩🏻❣️❣️

... and all this starts in our childhood, during which our parents instinctively and inevitably mould us to be the persons they want us to be and planting the seed on guilt in our mind so that it can grow every time we don't meet their expectations... Very few parents are wise and open minded and raise their children to become free thinking, responsible and self esteemed individuals. There should be a school to teach and prepare people for parenthood. 99% of people don't even realize what they really doing when they procreate. Traumas during infancy and childhood are the root of neurosis, if not psychic disorders or worse in adolescence and adulthood. The first and most important lesson we should be taught is to learn how to love ourselves before others. We have the right to be respected and the duty to respect others; that is sufficient. Love can not be taken for granted. That is why we have to learn to love ourselves first.

This is so helpful. I have always been very introverted and had a strong need to alone. Yes also very people pleasing. I've started becoming more accepting of myself and am now again finding I need to step back from groups to stop the noise and find authenticity. It's so scary, I feel so scared and alone, but also deeply need to go on this path as I feel I can be strong at the end of it. I wasn't being myself so left most of my social groups and social media. I feel like I'm crazy half the time and don't exist because I hardly have anyone to text or share with online, it's like coming off drugs?. Maybe this is what they call a dark night. I do feel the panic and desperation to cling on to anyone I can find right now because I'm alone a lot. But I know it's good for me. You are wise. Thank you.

The reason I like solitude! Most people are a pain in the arse.! So much truth here. Many people I have had to work with have been, control freaks always in search of greater authority and position and approval, I won't go any further with that. God loves us he knows our troubles, and it's OK to be ourselves. Most people beat themselves up because of what others think of them, don't make that mistake, it doesn't matter. Namaste.!

As an only child I learned early that if I wanted to do anything not to rely on others, get on do things for yourself alone. Life became an adventure bringing me early in life to a part of the world I fell in love with. Friends have come and departed; relationships ended, loved family are a distance away (hrs). I survived, the adventure continues, happily at 75, so liked what you spoke about, thanks 🙂

Growing up I was constantly concerned with the approval of others and I had quite low self-esteem but a few years ago I came to a realization that what others thought of me didn't matter and that I needed to focus on my own happiness. I began to dress kinda wacky in public and I actually had people hollar at me in the street a few times but I realized that it didn't matter. What mattered was about going down a path of self-realization and discovery. I've been on my spiritual path for almost a year and I've never been happier. I've actually found that I enjoy life a lot more and the bonds I make with friends are much stronger!

This is what i change actually. I reject and said to myself this cant be me. It what i acquired from many incarnations, from i dont know how many person who they themself dont know who they are. We must have the courage. I said i will not react with the same old me. I have to discover who is the real me. It takes a lot of courage . when you change people dont like because you are not good for them anymore. When they get nothing from you , you become useless to them. But this is the beauty. You will be able to find that most of them all where not people who you think you konw and who love you. Only few remains. And i know they are the real one. I lost my sister, my husband .yes it hard because you have to face this reality. But then you find peace within and you know that it was the best approche. Your video is very helpful for me in this time of challenges in my life. I experience every thing that you say. As if i was looking at myself in a mirror. I take it like a confirmation and a guidance. And i really hope that those who are sincere will find there way. Thank you so much. 🙏🙌💙

Thanks for sharing your wisdom, I'm 58 years of age and have felt like an outsider most of my adult life but havn,t necessarily felt comfortable about that and have always felt the need for approval and always feared being myself and have felt a deep sense of loneliness for many years now and have often wondered if there is any solution, and listened to you scares me because I feel that I have to explore loneliness completely in order to find myself, and I would give anything in order to feel grounded without feeling the need to be loved or without feeling lonely or in a loving relationship.

Your message about the unavoidable loneliness of the traveler on the journey to self-discovery is remarkably accurate. Isolating oneself from the old and unfriendly world in which one forged their consciousness and tested his limits is absolutely necessary. But, in my opinion, the longer you endure it, the greater the reward will be. In a strange and inexplicable way we and our genetic line created this social world that we don't like anymore and we, after we put our thoughts in order in solitude, have to recreate it.

I just found your channel and loved every one I watched so far. I feel as though you're reading what's inside of me. As I have gotten older, I'm 51, I enjoy my solitude even more and no longer feel i have to please people. I do live with semi- narcissistic family members though so I sometimes appease them and put on a mask so I can enjoy my solitude. I'm ok with that now because I know my heart and I love myself and have the self validation to not care what they think.

I think it’s also important to recognize that the social values of any given culture imposes it’s own standards of what is acceptable (in order to inhibit personal empowerment) by enforcing conformity. This way control is maintained on the individual, through the approval/disapproval of those who have conformed. Just sayin’.
