Self-discipline is a wonderful thing. It can mean the difference between achieving goals and not achieving goals. It can give a person a greater sense of self-worth. It can allow someone the ability to work harder for a shorter amount of time and accomplish much more than before. Self-discipline can make the process of dropping bad habits in favor of good ones much easier to accomplish. People who have self-discipline are happier in life. They have a greater sense of purpose overall and a greater sense of accomplishment in everyday life. Seeking self-discipline is the best way to a better life.
Self-discipline is a goal that will only be accomplished by following a path that will cause a great deal of pain. Walking this path will require a good deal of hard work and dedication because this path is not an easy one to walk. Sometimes, people fall off. Sometimes, the direction of the path needs to be changed. Sometimes, the path needs to be broken up into smaller trips in order to be able to complete the whole journey.
Self-control and self-discipline require hard work and serious commitment. If a person is not really serious about the need to develop self-discipline, then it just will not happen. No one can give anyone else self-discipline. It needs to be learned within.
However, consider what happens if self-discipline is never developed. Can a person go on in life without ever developing any level of self-discipline? Of course they can. What they will be missing out on is a lifetime of achievement. They will be giving up all sense of self-worth and self-fulfillment. They will lose out on the ability to replace bad habits with good ones. They will never know the joy of getting rid of addictions and temptations. They will be forever plagued by negative feelings of anger and regret and guilt. They will live their entire lives accomplishing nothing because they lack the necessary self-discipline to accomplish anything. They will not succeed.
Of course, it is a purely personal choice. It is possible to live life without accomplishing anything. It is possible to just skate through life devoid of any sense of self-worth and self-love. It is possible to get to the end and never achieve any type of goal. However, what kind of life would that really be?
The best way is to begin today to work on personal goals. Start now by deciding which habits are bad and need to be replaced. Make a list of good habits that need to be cultivated. Decide when this new lifestyle will begin - keeping in mind that sooner is better. Write down all the goals that need to be achieved and all the good habits that need to be cultivated. Post this list where everyone can see it. Tell family and friends. Get everyone involved.
Most importantly, remember that a successful outcome will be its own best reward!

I used to be self-disciplined before. I worked hard in school and all my efforts paid off. I played piano and become really good at memorizing the songs and could play with my eyes closed. As I grew older, I started becoming less motivated in life, and my grades curved down. I was depressed, still am. I'm glad I came across this video. I want to make a fresh start, and whoever is reading this, I hope you do as well. Don't give up! It will all pay off. I always look back at those moments when I was strong-willed and persistent, and all my efforts paid off.

Start feeding stomach of some animal or bird EARLY MORNING ( AS THEN YOU WILL ALIGN CIRCADYM RYTHM OF YOUR BODY, Otherwise in depression we sleep late and get up late all demotivated).... Everyday u will wake up with purpose and that purpose will give motivation for another and so on..... I lost motivation to achieve my dreams inspire of failing for so many times... The lamp is glowing! Now I understand why I succeeded many times the odds were against me and failed even when the odds were in my favour. I have been spending the time thinking about what I needed to do and how would it feel once I get it. Then I succeeded. So many other times I was just working on the next task and then the next and the next. Then I failed. The conclusion is that I need to have the goal in mind while doing the work. That will motivate me to do the job just right, no half-assing nor going perfectionistic. Knowing this in the future will change my chances for success greatly. I am about one hour in, let's see what else am I to learn from this book!

This is a great audiobook that I use to listen as a background music while I am daytrading. I saw this helps me stay focused, remember that I need to respect the rules and persevere while trend and market against me, restart if I fail and do again. I fought out that my main mistake is that I get out of the rule as soon as I see myself a little successful; now I am challenging myself to stay focused and respectful to the rules longer time and stay calm on both profit and loss situations although this is so tough. I wish improvement and reaching your targets with this audiobook. For me I need to listen regularly as I am bad enough and I need to remind myself regularly. So far I have listened almost a few time in full

I had always work hard to get ahead, but then I tend to slow down once I get to a comfortable position. Then I stopped engaging & eventually fall behind. Beat myself up for awhile… then pick myself up again. The cycle repeats. Don’t make the same mistake y’all. I’ll need to stop comparing myself and take it easy. Just be humble and work hard, 1% change everyday and keep the flow going.

First it never affected me but somehow I also started believing their opinions about me.I found it really difficult to meet people...ended up always thinking if they are looking at my pimple scars or facial hair(a Cyster here ). I don't know how but I gradually lost all the confidence I had..I got in to medical school somehow..was a struggle...lived in the shadows of my so called friends. Deep down I knkw this is not me...I really want a start over..I want to have control over my life...and I want to be able to not give a horseshit about wat people think of me ...like before..I hope this helps.

People don't know how much the words can hurt you. I was heavily bullied in the elementary school. Now I am in my early thirties but I still have to live with the consequences of that long gone bullying. It is a sad thing to say, but I would be a completely different person if I wasn't bullied. On one hand, I would be more trusting, and outgoing while having more self-respect. On the other hand, I would be less kind, less creative and less aware of the things happening around me. I would probably now be seeing kids as innocent angels they are not, just like most people do.

most people totally underestimate the amount they can accomplish just through discipline and practice/work. i have heard similar claims to "i would give anything to play piano like that" by countless people. or " i wish i could eat like you and not gain weight". or "i wish i had the opportunity to start my own business". its amazing to me that people convince themselves of these things even though they have been proven wrong over and over again. they will believe anything to make themselves feel better about not achieving. anything to not work hard or take a leap of faith. people truly understimate how much power they have to change their situation. its sad, but it makes it that much easier for the poeple that do have motivation and discipline

Self-Discipline Characteristics : ( 44:17 ) 1-They have strong well-defined sense of purpose, they know what they want 2-They seek out positive role model for inspiration and learning 3-They use sensory rich visions and vivid imaginations to set the stage for their own achievement 4-They have a positive sensory orientation, they expect to succeed rather than fail 5-They have a deep routed belief in their ability to achieve, they are immeasurably self-assured 6-They have the ability to plan and organize, they can break down what they want to achieve into manageable steps and set priorities that let them accomplish the most important things first 7-They know how and when to acquire essential knowledge and skills, they are not intimidating by the thought of having to learn something new. 8-They have patience, the passing of time doesn’t bother them, they’ll keep working toward their goal for as long as it takes. 9-They persevere, they stubborn and they don’t give up even when the going gets rough 10- They view work as pleasure because work is bringing them closer and closer to the realization of the goal that will be their final reward

As an addict seeking change and abstinence from specific substances that have and continue and always will create major problems in every area of my life, self-discipline is the key. If I cannot control myself, no one else can do it for me. Sure you can lock people up and dole out discipline, but when it comes to drug use, it is much harder to instill compliance based on what someone else wants for another. That is why the two most important phrases thrown around the recovery world are," You gotta wanna," and," Don't Use No Matter What!"

I listened to this book twice now . After a rewarding conversation with a person I believe to be true friend . Rare friends stay in my heart forever no matter what. I realized something and I know I am doing what’s right for me and only me. The discipline of my past has made me the strong person I am today.,yes I go weak at times. One thing I don’t do is give up. I continue to discipline myself daily and the calling of challenges stepped up to God Ordained Path . True to circumstances . Forgiveness in myself and others. Honesty is what keeps me strong.

"Self-discipline requires a lifetime of commitment. It doesn't mean you won't develop the habit of self-discipline in a relatively short period of time, it simply means that you must always be vigilant about how you are approaching your goals and what your purpose in life really is. It's all too easy to get sidetrack in something that feels comfortable but is not what you really set out to achieve. Every small victory will become a cause for celebration and a chance to renew your faith in your own ability to achieve, whatever it is that you want in life. And as you achieve it, you will find yourself becoming the kind of person you'll always admire, the kind of person who pursues a goal so single-mindedly, so stubbornly and so patiently that he or she could not help but achieve it." 🙏🙏💪💖

... As a German Biologist - I call it Life Awareness. When we see the Value of Life and Fertility - nothing becomes too hard. We accept any Hardship to go on. Then we have natural TABOOs of what NOT to do. It is a De Domestication - De Conditioning - to stay away from Temptations and embrace the daily things to do and go on. As we dumbify ourselves we run ever faster to the Abyss of Self Extinction. Like it happened on a Cosmic Scale so often. The Cosmos is chaotic and Destructive. And we LOVE that....

Very good video and good information was shared. I just have several things to add that I think need to also be mentioned. 1. Get and give endorsements for skills. It helps in standing out to be a subject matter expert. You can also endorse others that you have worked with who have earned it. 2. Connect with your peers and colleagues even if you don’t personally like them. Information is the commodity. These people could leave your company or team and could share valuable insight into other companies, teams, recruiters, and managers. You may also be able to share good information with them….true networking! 3. Be a bridge! Connect people to the right people in your network. If you’ve established yourself as a credible professional, an introduction from you holds weight and it could help build connections/relationships for others.

Self discipline is yet another habit we must adapt and live by in order to accomplish tasks. He says the only way to achieve our macro goals is by achieving our micro goals all we have to worry about is THE NEXT STEP!! That’s it make a plan write it down break it down and every day cross out the next step u accomplished. Thru this method I now have 4 successful businesses running. We have been conditioned to be a certain way and live a certain way it has been made to seem that we cannot go further than a professional w a degree but u can u can be a business owner without one and still become a millionaire!!! Half way there going to become the first self made millionaire in my family so those that come after me have no reason to say they can’t

Guys the most painful thing that could pull you down in life is not taking chances seriously. I am a victim of doing that and believe me it is hard to get over the chances you have missed. I was in the US for a couple of years studying in one of the best universities but dropped out in the last minute. Later, moved to the UK to continue my bachelor degree and dropped out in the final year. Now, I am back home, and I opened up a furniture factory but still struggling and thinking of quitting as i go through some challenges but trying so hard not to. Please respect any chance you have in life and never think of plan B, because if you let plan A slide, the possibility of not sticking to plan B is too high since you've developed a giving up mentality.

I have a friend who came to me and told me I am loosing focus and I lack discipline for example he told me to cut some of my friends and sexual partners, I knew this was true but his intentions were to manipulate me into a version of myself that enables him to have access and influence into my life, I told him I appreciate his concerns but for now I do not have any commitment or purpose and therefore I will neither take nor reject his advise (respectfully). I came back to this video because DESCIPLINE is what my heart tells me I need to achieve some of the goals that exists at the back of head. In short it came from within not a friend who was insecure about their life and felt that they needed me to help them see themselves better......I dont know if it makes sense but I still love him as a friend and at a distance.

I’m only 40 minutes in and already questioning my decisions in the last 2 years 😩. I’m an artist and an audio engineer, but as I reached my late 30s, I started thinking of creating a short term plan that will supplement my income as I pursue the other 2 careers. I found myself slowly losing motivation for what I’ve built for 10 years as I was putting more effort towards this business venture I’ve started. It turned out this business isn’t becoming successful as fast as I thought, and now I don’t know which one I should put more effort in and which ones to abandon. My problem is that I have the resources and ability to do all the 3, however all the wise voices, including this book encourage that I choose one and I need money at the moment. I refuse to go get hired elsewhere. I cannot come to this resolution right away, but I’ve already started to think about it right now. I hope this is making every listener reflect as much.
