I just want to say thank you for all your tutorials, they are really clear and helpful. Also the concept of short tutorials for each section instead of one long one is perfect. I wish you all the best.

Greetings - I'm really enjoying this series! I have a Mother-32 and a Matriarch. Your tutorials are teaching me "how to fish." Your intro to the M-32 is the best I've seen. It sets the stage perfectly. Thank you! The other Moog I'm eyeing is the Subharmonicon but I want to feel more grounded in what I have first. It's been a great adventure that started with Covid isolation and I'm happily carrying on. Cheers!

Thanks again! I have a matriarch as well and would like to do a similar series at some point with that synth! Those two alone can keep you busy for a long time! :)

Have had my week of just playing with the M32 and seeing what happens, which wasn’t wildly inspiring tbh, so working through these tutorials has been great so far. This one especially with seeing the assign possibilities. Looking forwards to working through the rest. Thanks!

Thanks! So great to hear. The video on Randomized Sequences and another on LFOs are ones that highlight features I find particularly fun and inspiring. Hope you like tham! :)

Can't wait for this next video! Glad you made this after my countless questions of "what do you have your assign output set to?" haha!

Ha! Well, after making this, I started thinking that need to add patches that make use of all these things. So I'm going to try to incorporate more in the patch books!

I was just thinking quantiser when you said quantiser and of course Maths. Really helpful series for many I am sure keep em coming.

hello there- Could you tell me what the mother is going through to get the specific sound in the beginning sequences? thank you
@braintree56 Жыл бұрын
The effects/processing I used in this series was subtle reverb (Valhalla Vintage) and some dynamics processing - most likely the stock Compressor that comes with Logic. Let me know if you have any questions. Unfortunately I don't think I have the audio files for this video, but I can check if you want more specifics.

I really appreciate your video! However I have one specific question related to this Assign Output here. What if I want to use Assign output to sync M32 with DFAM and use the random CV at the same time? Is there another way to sync M32 with DFAM? Thanks!
@braintree56 Жыл бұрын
You would have to use the DFAM as the master clock. (Or an external clock as a master. Pam's Pro Workout for example).

Would it be controversial to say that I think the Mother32 is the (relative) weak link of the DFAM/M32/SubH trifecta?
@braintree56 Жыл бұрын
The M32 is actually my favorite! I guess we all have our favorites. :)

I wish there was an easy way to quantize that random output before it hits the 1V/Oct input. :(
@braintree56 Жыл бұрын
Without an external module, unfortunately there isn't... With that said, I did figure out an alternate way to have it randomly pick notes from your choosing. I'm going to show that in the next video. You can use that method to program in whatever notes you want and have the Mother randomly play them.

@@braintree56 I am aware of the random option in the sequence and have used it. I was trying to do something with the random out from M32 into the Subharmonicon last night (trying to do a pseudo-krell patch) and the total lack of quantization, even on the SubH VCO inputs, was frustrating. I may try again tonight, using random notes from a M32 sequence (in key) to feed the VCO CV in on the SubH. 🤔

It's easy to sound smart when you can delete all the stupid things you say out of the video!!! ;)
