Dear creator of this video, thanks so much for providing a pretty nice EMDR tool. It doesn't function exactly like therapy, and I know you have a disclaimer that it isn't meant to be a replacement, but it still feels nice to be able to use it when therapy is not currently available to me. Sending my gratitude, and a big shout out to everyone who is navigating the dark right now. May you find your way!

Just one session eased the inner sense of the rocky relationship with my dad and how it has manifested in perfectionism and people pleasing over 30 years. I finally felt ready to tackle the issue after doing EMDR for some time now. I can't express my gratitude enough. 💕

I have sent and referred this to SO MANY PEOPLE. I had a very traumatic experience several years ago that I didn't realize caused paralyzing fear in me and clouded how was able to handle any given situation in my life. Not able to work, leave the house too often or interact with people. It was hard doing this because the memory stayed at a 10 during the first video. The second time around I started coughing like crazy, we're talking hacking up lungs here😅. My son ran into my room to make sure I wasn't dying😆. I definitely felt energy moving out. I'm still probably in the 6ish area but the fact that it's moving out is such great progress. No clue why people don't try the download instead of complaining about ads. My daughter did EMDR with a therapist earlier this year and it was $150 for a one hour session. This video is free and my daughter said it was actually more helpful than the therapist that charged loads of money. Thank you so much for making this!!! The colored ball keeps me focused.... Keeps my mind from wandering

This is SO helpful! I hope everyone who is lucky enough to stumble on this video gives it a try! I was using it to desensitize myself from a "bad scenario" that I created in my own head, and during this session I discovered a deep angle of why this "bad scenario" even occurred in my head and why I felt so threatened by it, tracing the source back to something in my childhood. Thank you for creating this. It is true that immediately following the session, your bad thoughts may get worse for a bit so definitely try not to think too much of your bad thoughts; those of you who are already in therapy or been on self-healing journey for a while, you know how to engage in your go-to techniques to handle upsetting thoughts. If you are very traumatized and you haven't been through any healing at all, you may want to try other methods of therapy first and not jump into the deep end with this video.

Thank you! I stumbled on this video after watching other video's on EMDR to learn about it as I am about to begin EMDR with a therapist who was recently brought on board at the clinic where I had been in weekly talk therapy with my first therapist for just about a full year. I met my new therapist last Friday, again today, she is learning a lot about me, as, I can cover a lot of information in an hour. I am intrigued about EMDR especially since I will soon be experiencing it and hoping this will help my CPTSD. I am so intrigued that I am so tempted to play this video only to watch as an observer, not participating. I have many years of trauma in my life, I can not afford to add more to it. I appreciate your caution.

Very effective...when I started at the beginning i felt overwhelmed of the emotions of remembering the traumatic event. i felt it was at an 8 and , as I followed the video it went to a 6...then the image and emotions began to soften/change and got covered in love & peace. New ways of seeing the images came...by about the 5th time of watching the ball the original disturbing image had completely changed to something I could handle and would say it ended at a 0. so awesome! Thank you for making this video!

I got really bad issues and anxiety attacks, due to the fact that stress is a major factor to my issues. When the colour shifts to fast for me to say it in time, my stress levels rise sky high, this did not reduce in any way. Just got worse due to me got scared of not managing it. Had to say inside to calm down a bit. The very nice about this is to understand how much stress is the cause of my issues.

I had similar, but got past it by realizing there is nobody listening, there won't be a quiz, I don't get points off for being wrong, nobody cares if I get a color wrong, and the point of saying the colors out loud isn't to get the colors right but to just occupy your brain with different sensory stimulis at once. Try saying "left, right" or even "change, change" when you see the ball move or change.

This technique is so subtle. My memory relates to a very difficult moment in childhood where I was under pressure to do something, had only one chance, and failure meant death or serious injury. Obviously, I succeeded and survived, yet the image haunts me and I suspect it's at the root of some long term behavioural and social problems, so I tried this exercise. I was going to comment, saying I didn't experience any thoughts or feelings each time between sessions watching the coloured ball, except for mild anxiety that maybe wasn't doing it right, or wasn't able to do it properly. But only as I wrote those words out, I finally realised - that's it. That's the whole thing! I feel so much lighter and upbeat right now, it's incredible. Huge thanks to you! ❤

Im a big neville goddard /manifestibg fan and student. But id been trying to manifest a healthy loving romantic relationship for years (on and off). I realized id never experienced one and i only had bad memories and imprints to rely on while trying to create something new. I had no data in my storage to create what i wanted lol i finally tried this video. I choose the biggest moments of trauma id experienced with abandonment. After i did the video i replaced the scenes with new images of being loved and respected. It was almost immediate after this i met someone. Im now in my first relationship ever with a man that respects women and is good to me. Thank you ❤❤ im going to do it again today for business and success. Ps. For anyone interested - sometimes if i feel something happens that keeps looping in my mind and affecting me (meaning i havent processed it properly) i do whats in this video but on my own. Just quickly - seeing the ball go back and forth changing colors etc until the emotional reaction is gone. It can really help on the fly too!

Would be better without the colour changes on the moving ball. Having to name the colours requires a lot of attention, which switches the mind from dual attention (a key element of EMDR) to mono attention.
@Mind-Motion
@Mind-Motion Жыл бұрын
If you are retrieving the memory and at the same time you are distracted by naming the colors, the working memory gets overloaded. The working memory simply cannot cope. This creates a distance from the disturbing memory.

@@Mind-Motion thank you for this explanation. I have heard of EMDR including sound alternating from side to side in addition to the visual, but I had not heard of calling out colors. I did find it hard to stay on a thought or memory while calling out colors, but maybe that's the point? Sometimes I didn't call out the colors and sometimes I did. @@melindavictor266 you said, "I did a few sessions of EMDR with a therapist, but it wasn't nearly as helpful as this self-guided video." That is incredible! I will be beginning EMDR soon with a therapist, so of course, I am learning as much as I can about this modality. I have years of trauma I need healing for but due to the extent of my trauma, I am terrified to try it outside of professional guidence, but I am also incredibly intrigued and curious. I am debating whether or not to play this video just for observation only. I'm not ready to get sucked into opening a trauma wound without immediate tools to cope. Maybe after a few EMDR sessions with my therapist, I'll seek her advice about trying this at home because one hour a week in a clinical setting will take the rest of my life to resolve all of my traumas. BTW, I have been in weekly counseling for a year now, talk therapy, it's up and down, not healed, sometimes I felt worse after so much trauma dumping for many weeks, I felt so overwhelmed, though it has helped a little, I definantly noticed a lot of dots connecting in my brain, especially early on. I am definately in a better place than I was a year ago.

@@Mind-Motion Outwardly, that feels like it's impeding my process, but I'm not sure if that IS the process at work. Should we try harder on naming those colors if that feels like it's to the detriment of holding those memories/ emotions during this process? I hope that made sense. It feels as though I'm rubbing my tummy and patting my head and I'm not sure if I'm working against what I should be to be successful in my attempts.

I’m confused, maybe this isn’t meant for me, but I’ve been actively seeking EMDR therapy for years without being able to find any options. I finally decided to see if there were any simple “do it yourself” options to just give it a try on a less serious stressful moment. I recounted my whole memory, finding it was more upsetting than I had originally remembered since I was actually recounting it in full. Once it got to the colored ball movements I was completely lost. The interruptions were asking what I saw now or what my interpretation of things were, but I had no idea because my focus was on naming the colors. That’s the entirety of what I was thinking about at that point and I wasn’t sure what I was supposed to be thinking. Maybe I’m too Autistic and my thinking is too “black and white” to be able to focus on more than one thing for this, I wish I could experience what all the positive comments are describing :/

those comments may be from people who dont have actually have ptsd. ptsd or cptsd feels life endangering levels of bad. actually going delving into trauma is not a sensible thing without safety nets around you which I think is why self help is a bit of a dodgy approach. Is it okay if you feel done after 6 or 7 minutes. I’m so exhausted and I feel like I need a break. My head is throbbing from crying so hard. I will have to come back to this again after some processing time.

I can handle it part is important because I start to dissociate and almost fall asleep when the “I can’t believe this happened to me” part comes up. Still almost can’t stay awake so will have to do this more when I can

Not seriously? 😳 Did i do something wrong?! I went from 8 to 0 within 10minutes and I had to laugh all the tome later!? Like really in a positive way, like I cant believe..This cant be real? 😅🙈 did anybody else has similar experience? Does it last or its just short term feeling? Should i continue with the same image for the rest of the time or move to other images?

This is something I'm struggling with as well. They responded when someone else asked the same thing, I'm not sure if you saw it, but this was their response: "If you are retrieving the memory and at the same time you are distracted by naming the colors, the working memory gets overloaded. The working memory simply cannot cope. This creates a distance from the disturbing memory." I asked if the trouble keeping up with naming the colors should be overtaking my energies. I'm waiting on a response. I worry that my focusing too much on something seemingly irrelevant isn't going to help me, but maybe that's actually the goal. I'm waiting to hear back from the OP to better understand.

Is it crucial to think of a certain memory? Because I can access the feeling but not always the memory. Or I can think about a fear I’m having and feel the emotions but it hasn’t happened yet 👀

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's confused and frustrated. I also ended it wondering if I did it right. I never could create a clear image in my mind, just feelings. I can't afford a therapist but might need the guidance

I also got frustrated by the color-naming task, but also saw (at least in my case) that the frustration led to higher-than-reasonable anxiety. So, I think that in my case, that anxiety was pointing to an issue that I'm struggling with. However, I wonder if the task might be a tad too difficult; I had many flubs. One possible fix would be to use the playback speed control in the settings menu (click on the "gear" icon) to play it back at a slower speed. Of course, I don't know if doing so messes up the efficacy of the task; just thought I'd throw that out there.

When he kept asking what was on my mind, each time i still thought about the image, but i felt less ..... im sorry my english isnt that great, oh i got it, i felt less affected. But my thought didnt change. Just felt less affected by it. I hope this means its working. I imagine it like its putting this thought or memory further back in the brain so that i dont live with it at all times in the present.

I couldn't focus on a specific memory and i couldn't visualize an image. So whenever I was asked what would come up, it would be nothing. And the longer I went, the more tired i became. My brain felt super slow and at some point it felt like it was literally blocking something and when that happened, my eye tracking became extremely hard too. So the point that my eyes were sometimes forced shut and at one point i thought I was gonna lose consciousness. Idk exactly what i did wrong tbh. I now also just feel tired.
