This instant hot pot kit contains 7 different packets including lotus root, noodles, tofu, wood-ear mushrooms, bamboo shoots, bean curd skin, and konjac to make a hot pot that heats ITSELF. 😮 See how it works and how it tastes. Thanks so much, Matthew, for sending this to me to make this episode possible. 🙌🏻 New videos every Thursday and Saturday 8 pm EST.

Hey Emmy. I just wanted to let you know the joy your videos bring me. I'm chronically ill and spend more of the year in the hospital than out of it. And while I watch a broad range of videos to keep myself from going nuts locked in a 10x5 room for months on end I don't think any of it can really compare to your content. You bring such a warm and inviting feeling to your videos that few other KZbinrs have and it's something of a morale booster when you start feeling like everything is shit in life. So, thanks is what I'm saying I guess.

Much appreciation. Though in the end I didn't really make the post to get pity, I made it because it's something I've been thinking a long time about, my appreciation of these videos. Maybe I just got drugged or am sleepy enough that I finally went and did it. But in the end I was just hoping the knowledge that her videos help people is known to her.

My granddaughter love love loves veggies and all kinds of different foods. So 3 years later with grandson she did the same and he also loves veg. Thry would rather have a box of cherry tomatoes and cut up cucumbers instead of candy at the store. Ive actually been accused of not allowing them to have sweet treats at the store. Both grandkids when asked if they wouldn't rather have candy or donut or cookie they both both spoke up and said no! One of the things that makes your videos so great is that you thoroughly describe the taste and texture of the food. Most people just prepare the food but don't describe the experience of eating it. Ain't nobody got time to try a recipe when they have no idea what the finished product will be like. You describe things so well that we can tell exactly what things taste and feel like. There's no ambiguity when you talk about a "vegetal jelly cartilaginous crunch". 😁😁😁❤

Just wanted to thank you for your videos, I love trying and exploring the world through food. You do such an amazing job of describing flavors and textures from an american pallet. That we can imagine what its like. My mom loved to try new foods from all over the world. I believe that food is defined by a culture and the culture is defined by its dishes. It’s also the way we connect to others through food and drink. Watching your videos is fun and inspiring to my kids and I to try new foods. My kids are weaboos and we often find foods from anime’s, and manga’s they want me to make. It’s a way of learning new cultures from our home. Thank-you once again.

Lotus root *Nelumbo Nucifera is a bit different than the dish rag gourd *Luffa aegyptiaca or variants. Interestingly enough both can be eaten and yes they look similar. The luffa or however you wish to spell it is also called a cucumber or gourd. The lotus root is a rhizome...so technically a root. I am not sure about them being related, but they both can be eaten. Luffa is not so edible when it matures and is closer to what you scrub your feet with. =)

Tbh the best way is to ask employees or other customers there. Sometimes online translators (or apps) can give some very confusing (and funny) answers lol. I'm lucky enough to be familiar with most of their items because I grew up in a Vietnamese household.

@@Oldbmwr100rs it's funny at first but after that you just stand there confused because you have no idea what you're looking at and then potentially end up frustrated because you can't find the ingredients you need as nothing makes sense to you lol.

Melissa bussone if you look at price tag it’s normally in English. At the ones I shop at everything tends to be in another language except the tiny price tag things but it’s small and not really noticeable. I’m not sure if it’s different or like a regulation in my city, but I hope that helps.

I'm guessing there aren't many holes and they were spaced out so it wasn't too bad? Having said that people with phobias do not choose to "cry about silly things". Just because you don't experience and/or understand it doesn't make it any less serious. While I understand that some people are overdramatic and should be called out for it, in most cases it's not something that they can control and many already feel shame/self-loathing, the last thing they need is for someone to make light of it. I don't exactly have trypophobia myself but even I find it unnerving to look at something that has a lot of small dark holes all clustered together.
