Well I be damned! Let’s show some appreciation to Blue gloves (self taught fighter) such a technical fighter: Analysing the fight I see Blue gloves uses body shots to create distance, and also solid footwork to create new angles and escape shots being set up by the opponent. First half of the fight was all about controlling the opponent , effortlessly throwing jabs and moving around red gloves (who gasses out from moving too much) Blue gloves decides to hit more near the end of the round because he saved a lot of energy defending and moving around. As a self taught boxer myself I assume blue gloves really wanted to learn from the experienced fighter - little did you know he became a lesson for his opponent aha😅 incredible work✊🏾

@@TheSeedsAndStems sorta, but self-taught boxers usually don't notice their mistakes. So it's important to have coaches to point it out, also needs proper sparring agsint other experienced boxers in order to test out what you've learned and condition yourself to become more calmer and calculating in a fight. Why do people think having a coach is strictly necessary to learn how to box? I feel like this is the only sport where everyone collectively agrees that there's no point to try to learn how to box on your own and to just join a boxing gym and you can't make any progress at all, but doesn't that apply to literally everything else? Playing basketball, tennis, soccer, football, volleyball... you can get better without a coach, why not boxing? Sure, you might not be as good of a boxer as you can be, but not everyone can get a coach or has a boxing gym where they live. I see it as a defeatist mentality to think "if I can't get a coach, I might as well not even try to learn the fundamentals even though I like boxing".

He's a little stiff with his upper body, it's like solidly connected to his hips, has no looseness, need to learn to have loose body movements that kinda do their own thing but work together keeping balanced, a good boxer will be able to be balanced and positioned to throw/block/evade punches as much as possible no matter what the other guy is doing, hip isnt supposed to be connected to upper body, it's supposed to be more like a counter balancer, so your upper body can search/ move freely, if i was to teach him to learn 1 thing, it would be that

@SuperiorS-61620 күн бұрын
I dunno who's self taught here but here's what I noticed. Blue is better,his distance management is better despite his shorter reach and as much as red bounces around, Blue is constantly making Red's footwork fail by little, and Red also keeps his chin hanging a lot. It's not as noticeable on the hands but if you look at the feet,it's quite visible. If I was red I would try to improve my footwork and try to dodge less with head movement, don't get me wrong, head movement is definitely key but if you're unbalanced and trying to dodge punches you could really soak up a lot of damage if the guy lets go of your head and throws some bodyshots. I like Red's hand speed and reaction time but I think he is over relying on them and he is compromising his footwork a lot in that exchange. I also dunno if he's trying to be a volume fighter or a counterpuncher, and that's something Blue can probably tell as well. If I had that reach advantage I would try to manage my distance better to force blue to overcommit and try to bait him to set up a nice counter. I would definitely love to see this in a proper gym though, definitely a stylistic match up.
