A quick question Sam if you don’t mind, when you attached the first side panel to the wall did you use self drilling metal screws into the metal frame through the pocket holes?
@garethbuttery89967 ай бұрын
Great video, thanks. I noticed you used pocket screws on the shower sides up into the ceiling but you don't have a timber frame the other side. Did you only screw into the ceiling panels? I'm about to start my shower build and was planning to use an additional timber frame but if there's no need, I'd like to save work.

Great video, very helpful in helping me decide whether to buy this for my van ...a couple of questions please. 1. How wide is your doorway cutout? 2. How far from the edge is the cutout at the side where the tambour radius sits? Thanks in anticipation.

Hi I’m converting a Ford transit jumbo. Could you tell me your shower dimensions. A lovely job. Good luck with it.
@TheCraftyBlindersvanlife3 жыл бұрын
Hi Eleanor that's a big van lots of opertunity and options for a great build the tray I used is a C200 the dimensions are 1019mm x 700mm but it can be cut down to 940mm x 620mm I trimmed a bit off the back edge and the side so it would fit where I needed it to go We have a Facebook page of the same name and would love to see your builds progress and its handy if you get stuck or have any questions good luck and keep us updated

Good work on the shower Sam, when you are fitting to the van walls. Are you screwing straight to the van walls or have you got battens under the ply wall lining? Thanks
@TheCraftyBlindersvanlife Жыл бұрын
I secured the walls to structural parts of the van I marked the ply with where the structural parts of the van that are behind the ply
@darrenplayer2091 Жыл бұрын
@@TheCraftyBlindersvanlife that's good to know, as I am trying to avoid battening out the van, deciding on using 6 or 9 mm. Did you feel you got good secure fixings using the 6mm ply? Are subsequent fixing for example in your overhead units and kitchen units, bathroom wall therefore through into the van structural beams also? I'm thinking one of the advantages of using 9mm I can avoid any subsequent fixing needing to go into the van structure too but I guess at the cost of additional weight of 9mm. Thanks

Hi Sam - great video, and a great combo that tambour door / vertical shower combo! A question if you don’t mind? How did you secure the shower fitting to the wall? Did you need a backing plate? Many thanks - keep them coming!
@TheCraftyBlindersvanlife3 жыл бұрын
The shower head bracket is just screwd through the hygienic board and into the furniture board taking care to use the correct length of screw as for the mixer valve that had 2 holes drill right through both boards allowing the threaded part of the valve to pass through and then I attached the bossed nuts and tightened the assembly up until the gaskets made a seal as the mixer is low all tge connections are accessible from under the bed, no backing plate was required as the Moorlands furniture board is quite strong Hope this helps 👍
