Honda Passport = for tall drivers! As someone who’s 6’5”, I’ve battled my fair share of cramped cabins, but the Honda Passport is a game-changer. It has incredible head, leg, and hip room-one of the best and most usable spaces around. It’s also tall, cheaper, and way more reliable than a Land Rover. Honda’s legendary J35 V6 engine is a rock-solid workhorse, and the second-row space and cargo area blow most competitors out of the water. I’ve owned just about everything on God’s green earth-MDX, Pilot, Pathfinder, RX, Highlander, and Outback, but if you don’t need a third row, the Passport is the clear-cut winner. The Pathfinder, for example, has a passenger seat that sits too low, forcing your knees up uncomfortably, almost like a cramped third-row seat. Plus, its elevated center storage makes the space feel tighter than it should. Meanwhile, the Passport gets it right with a massive center console and lower cupholders that create an open, airy feel. If you want the best version, get the Trailsport trim in that stunning Diffused Sky Blue. It looks just as good as it drives.

My wife and I traded our 2020 RAV4 for for a 2024 Maverick. Despite the fact that we did not have any infractions such as accidents or speeding tickets, the insurance costs for the RAV just became too much. Perhaps that was from the thefts. We like our Hybrid Maverick. It gets a little better mileage than the hybrid RAV, is comfy, versatile and has cheaper insurance.

The P2 Volvos produced from 2001-2009 are criminally underrated. My daily driver is a 2001 s60 T5 that I bought used in August 2004 with 46000 kms(28500 miles). It now has 465000 kms(289000 miles) with original engine, transmission and turbo. It does everything it needs to do and then some. The V70 and XC70 variants were even more practical and I simply cannot understand why they were always overlooked!

My wife and I sold our 2021 Toyota venza and RAV4 hybrid not even a year old and bought 2 hybrid mavericks! We test drove before making the decision. Mavericks in our opinion are the better vehicles. She drives the 22 lariat first edition and I have a 23 XL! Don’t regret it! I’m averaging 50 MPG!😊

Comparing economy-class Ford pickup trucks to Toyota mid-level CUVs? That's a stretch. Let's see what they think in, say, 5 - 7 years of ownership, when the Fords' maintenance/repair costs suddenly overshadow that "50 mpg" (likely Canadian gallons). Not long ago, when I inquired at the all-brands service facility I use about the American brands, I was told: "Stay with your 4Runner!"

One consideration for tall drivers in addition to head-room is the position of the rearview mirror. For example, the rearview mirror in the Subaru Crosstrek is positioned so low that, for tall drivers, it blocks about 25% of the view out of the windshield looking toward the right fender. It is possible to duck one’s head to see under it, but that is not a comfortable or safe driving position. Other compact and subcompacts probably could have the same issue. So be conscious of this issue during your test drive,

I am a loyal follower of your channel. Your recent video about the best SUV for tall drivers inspired me to share the following thoughts. I owned a Subaru Outback Wilderness when it first hit the market. Two years ago, I traded it in for my current Land Rover Discovery 5 HSE. Having driven both vehicles, I can confidently say the Discovery 5 has surprised me in terms of its luxury, comfort, sophistication, and-most importantly-its reliability. Ironically, while JD Power surveys consistently rank Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) near the bottom for dependability, my personal experience has been the opposite: I encountered far more warranty issues with the Outback than I have with the Discovery 5. Subaru, on the other hand, often tops those same reliability rankings. It’s a stark contrast between statistics and real-world ownership-one that’s left me questioning how these ratings truly reflect individual experiences.

The Subaru digital driver display is a good thing if you use navigation a lot. It's much less distracting to have the map directly in front of you instead of off to the side. As the driver, your eyes are just looking down instead of down and away from the road.

A box on wheels like the Kia Soul has lots of headroom. It's been a while, but the Niro had surprising headroom. Both are only FWD, though, and maybe too (sub)compact overall?

As a Maverick owner for two years and 31,000 miles, I'd advise the RAV4 owner to go check out the Maverick Truck Club before buying. There is a wealth of information there from real owners. I'm scratching my head trying to figure out how anyone can say the 2025 Maverick is more reliable when it's just hitting the streets now. We hope it's more reliable. But we won't really know for a year or two. That said, my 2022 ecoboost Maverick has been totally reliable. Two painless recalls done in my driveway, and waiting on Ford to identify fixes for two more, but no other issues. It's a simple, no frills, unexciting automotive appliance that delivers a lot of value for the money. Well, a lot more money than we paid two years ago, but still a fair value for what you get.

I’ve been wanting to get a small manual transmission car again. One that can fit in my small garage. Mazda 3 Hatch and Golf GTI were at the top of my list. I was a little disappointed I couldn’t get my legs to fit under the GTI steering wheel but could in the Mazda 3. The Miata is of course tempting me but $5k more I don’t know.

Are you forgive me, abnormally tall or something? I am 6’1’ and have no issues like that at all. At my height I don’t really make any significant adjustments. Between seat adjustments and steering column adjustments,I can’t see how you could have a challenge. A buddy of mine is 6’4’ tall and again no challenges at all with fit or comfort.
@springertube6 сағат бұрын
@@grantlingley1385 Height is not just a matter of overall inches, but what proportions are you? That is critical. One of my brothers and I share a 6'-0" (183cm) overall height, but completely opposite proportions. As Zack has also described himself--and regularly complains of no passenger seat height adjustment--I am also comparatively all torso, but my brother all legs. I have headroom problems in cars he has zero issues with, and other people I know who are 6-2, 6-3 are also fine with. Conversely, many basketball players don't necessarily have a headroom height/clearance issue, but they are all inseam and do have the leg dimension challenge. It's always about proportions.

Andrea and Zack, I'd love to win a set of tires! I don't know what I'd do with them though as I don't have a car. I haven't had a car since 1999. I walked to work (when I worked) and now that I am retired (no pun) I am happy to take public transportation (city bus), a taxi, or even rent a car for a weekend. It's much cheaper than owning a car, plus I don't have to scrape the windows (or sweep off the prairie snow) and I don't have to let it warm up when the windchill is -45 like it was here in Regina SK yesterday.

Don't agree. Toyota and Lexus have done little to prevent theft otherwise their vehicles would not still be getting stolen. If they were doing something why don't they make a easy way to shut off the transmission from their key fobs to stop man in the middle attacks. I know how to shut it off but nothing in any of their manuals on how to do it. How come they don't have some protection in their computer bus to stop people popping the bumper and attaching to the bus to unlock the car. They don't even offer to install security devices at the dealership where they could make some money off that. No tracking devices, no disabling the starting. I have to pop the hood and pull the fuel filter fuse if I really want to be safe.
