For the lawn dead spot, it could be several things. Based on where it is, I assume it's compacted soil if you drove on that section and now needs to be aerated. Could also by a fungus, grubs, or something else going on with the soil in that area that a soil test might reveal. If it's getting adequate water, then that's not the issue and adding more will hurt it.

I live in Utah too so some lawncare advice. In hot weather you should NOT cut the grass short but set the mower to it's highest height. The extra length helps shade the roots and retain moisture in the soil.

Go to IFA and talk to them about fertilizer for your grass. There are 3 stores around the point of the mountain: Draper, Riverton, American Fork. Just show them a video or picture of what’s going on and they’ll be able to help!

Or call Sunday and make 50 or 100k from doing sponsored videos making the lawn great again.
@Bryan24U103 ай бұрын
just a little tip, if you leave the cut grass clippings behind it helps act like a fertilizer and may be able to help with that dead spot a little bit without needing spending hundreds or even thousands on it! The clippings contain nitrogen which helps the lawn grow, as well as not contaminating water with commercial fertilizer.

The grass isn’t dry it’s a dead patch to fix it you just got to work with a lot if the yard is not very level than there is a type of sand you can spread and it levels it out and is good for the yard or you use a bunch of fertilizer and make sure you spread it evenly across the whole yard also water the grass in the morning before the sun comes up and right at sunset
@402car_kid43 ай бұрын
I get that sometimes walking behind mowers are fun but i got a 34” toro zero turn with the fabbed deck and man its so nice to mow and i actually enjoy it more than walking. And i can cut the grass in 30 mins and it liooks professional with the stripe kit. The 34” is perfect for homeowners because it can easiyl fit through gates etc and its small enough to move strips and small sections of yard. I recommend also buying the mulching kit because no more bagging and it doesnt leave grass on top that will die and look bad it cuts it up into small little pieces and they fall dont so youll never see it. best purchase for a homeonwer in my opinion.

Hey Strad. I work in lawncare and I can say that those tall weeds in your yard (which I very well could be wrong) seem to be either Musk Thistles or Milk Thistles. I’m letting you know this because if they are a Musk or Milk Thistles, they are toxic. Just figured I’d let you know because of Oscar cause they may or may not affect him if he just so happened to eat one but I don’t want you to take the chance of him eating one. They are also not good for other plants. I say that because I saw they were around plants in your yard. They will outcompete native plants for space and reduce production. They will also reduce the amount of water to your other plants. They are both very sharp and pointy so be careful removing them, but I recommend uprooting them.
@punnksstar48333 ай бұрын
stead I know you just bought this mower but I would suggest a zero turn and a blower for a yard this size! if you have to bag it then this is the way to go but if you can blow it into the desert than it would be much better for you long term!

@10:00 that patch of Scottish thistles is spectacular. They bloom in a mauve colour that would be outstanding on a livery. The plant is a spikey scourge on the land. Good luck with the eradication ... That brown patch is probably elevated alkalinity, where the grout was mixed for your brick work. Use Iron or Aluminium sulphate to adjust the ph.

I'm a painter by trade and heres just a few tips on painting (because I'm bored) , rule number 1 "paint goes on the wall not in the wall" and by that i mean don't push the roller hard into the wall just guide it up and let it fall. rule number 2. when getting paint "IN" the sleeve you want to work it in till the sleeve feels noticeably heavier that'll give you the proper displacement of paint. rule number 3 keep the horn of the cage pointed in the direction of travel across the wall as the knap of the roller is directional and switching back and forth leaves lines. rule number 4. only go one and a half roller lengths before adding more paint to the sleeve, again you dont want to start pushing on the wall to get more paint out itll just make it harder to load the sleeve the next pass. and finally rule number 5. make sure to overlap the previous roll as you are trying to maintain an even spread on the wall. BONUS STEP: you can backroll the entire wall once you complete the pass and by doing so it'll flatten out any imperfections and make the wall look "smooth as butter!". hope this helps you guys and anyone else who took the time to read this weird little painting ted talk haha.
