I've noticed the simple ones sell the best! A lot of my personal favourites with dope sample flips, weird percussion and soulful emotion etc barely get any love but I have other beats that I barely spent any time on, ones with basic stock sounds or ones that I look back on and can't stand etc that people love! You never know what people will be drawn to but simplicity is a good start when you're targeting artists

Nothing comes easy. After doing this for a bit I realize that I have a lot of work ahead of me. I got to comfortable in my career. If I can even call it that. I hit a wall. This has helped me get past that wall. I'm only in the very beginning stages when it comes to full-on beat production. I'm so humbled by the great music that you guys can pound out literally daily on top of doing tutorials, editing, updating etc. all the work that goes into it. First and foremost you guys were true musicians with a lot of passion in. Just simply naturally good at what you do. Pat yourself on the back. Anybody that hates on that are pieces of shit. I literally had to unfriend you on Twitter because I would get into it with those assholes. But I definitely damn sure sure a lot of your posts because I believe in you and what you do. Most important tutorials like these you've shareed your time learning that help other people save their time. Now someone who produces music out there can spend a little bit more time with their kids. A person working a part-time to build his or hers up can spend a little bit more time making beats. Time is money especially here in the states. Giving is the key to success. Friday I'm definitely grabbing that drum kit. Thank you for the inspiration always.

That question on the two type of beats. 1 a great beat vs a beat that someone wants to rap on. Most producers are trying to make that dope beat. But the smart producer is thinking so much more simpler. Bro thank you. @djpain1

YES! We need to have this conversation more. And I think it goes to show why many producers in your interviews have stated, alongside with me, the beats we think that are musically complex don't sell as much as the simple beats with space that are easy to put vocals on. The beats I don't overload with instruments may not sound as complex but it sells more. I am experiencing this as well...and its a struggle, its cool making simple beats but sometimes I wanna go further with my projects...and maybe that means just adding more minor details (note/pattern changes for kicks, melody, pitch etc) but less sounds/instruments
@CashMazy4 жыл бұрын
Or could it even mean I am marketing the complex beats the wrong way. Maybe these need to be geared more toward tv shows, movie scores, theme songs etc and not rappers/vocals/singers.

the most simple beats turn out to be hits. i like how he mentioned that he didnt complicate it and just used chord progressions and a couple other sounds. Similar to 90s hiphop which in my mind was the hottest era for hiphop. specifically 98 at least for the bay area.

Not hating at all here, just wanna say that the 10 toes beat sounds like the beats i used to make at the beginning with stock vst in garage band but it got millions of views. Meanwhile here i'm making super complexed productions with bus routing, automations, mix bus processing and mastering to get 60 views for a beat 😂 it makes you wonder and defo will apply the concept of simplicity more.
