Hi nick and andrea. There is a catalogue issued once every year that lists all the cigarette and cigar cards as well as trade cards and confectionery cards. They list prices for mint good worn and poor. Its so easy using the catalogue. Think its published by stanley gibbons the stamp people.

Nick, I sell YuGiOh trading cards on eBay and you really should start buying Toploaders to send trading cards in. They're the standard that collectors expect now. People really dislike getting cards in the fashion you mentioned (raw inbetween a piece of cardboard). Toploaders are the way to go and will always be met with positive feedback, you can buy them in bulk for cheap. Just place the card in the toploader and tape the end to make sure it doesn't fall out and job done! Good luck.

@@NicHills If you plan to buy and sell trading cards in the future as I take it you will, it's worthwhile investment. They don't cost a lot, just pieces of plastic at the end of the day!

As a long time dealer in ephemera with many thousands of cards of all types, I know some cards can carry good money, also there are good fakes of these cards so folks should always check.

Hey Nic, good informative vid, thx, I’ve sold cards in the past, sales and ‘watching paint dry on the forth bridge dry’ spring to mind. It’s interesting to hear you make a point of your expectations with having to be patient for stuff to sell, I suffered from lack of it in my early days selling, and used to drop prices way to soon. Now I have more of a realistic expectation, research both price and look at dates sold. Really appreciate your vids, it’s great you share both successes and stuff that struggles, thx :-)

Interesting. My grandfather and great uncle collected albums full of those cigarette cards. I know my Dad still has them in the attic. Must go on a rummage. I have sold more modern cards like Pokemon, as 25 or 50 piece job lots though, couldn’t be doing with singling them out.

I collect cigarette and tea cards I have over 3,000 of them,lots are modern version or very damaged cards but I just enjoy collect them and like find mixed lots,I find a whole cigar sized boxed with over loo cigarette cards for £5 in vintage shop when I visited Shropshire about 3 years old I was so pleased and hoping to find some more mixed bundles,so if any freebies hehe.very very interesting to me so thank u very much nic

I got loads of these in a job lot from the auction and they weren’t worth much paid £3 I think and got about £75 as a job lot myself and that was without going through them properly. Just had a quick look and they were mainly just generic stuff.
