Getting outside in the garden is invigorating for me. Your joyful spirit reflects your happiness being there too. Really liked the hyacinth segment-going to try that next year. Like your approach to clean up; that’s how I work although my garden is much smaller. Hydrangeas are my favorites; oh wait, hellebores are too! Thanks Danielle for all your knowledge and infectious love for nature! Have amaryllis and paperwhites growing indoors now since watching your channel.

I think all of us as gardeners think we have to have everything cleaned up at the same time. It's nearly impossible, because I can't ever seem to get it all done. So this year, I'm taking a little step back from work one day. Each week, I will spend the day cleaning that area. I'll feel so much better tackling one area at a time.

I watch your channel for your knowledge and appreciate that you include education in each one. Depending on your taste, savaging old house windows and hanging them around the back wall of the garage, perhaps even covering that single window. We replace the panes with mirrors along our fences to reflect the growing plants. Neither of those fences get direct blazing sunlight. Other windows are left with the old plate glass. Most frames are left with their old paint but I have seen where others paint the frames in bright flower colours.

From what I have now read and also experienced in my first year having Coralberry, once it freezes out the berries will turn to mush and turn brown. I planted it for bird food and there aren’t any birds eating the berries. I didn’t know about the mealy bug problem. I’ll have to watch for that and will more than likely be replacing this bush and I appreciate you talking about it and to not be afraid to replace it with something we will be happier with. Really loved the view of Grace, the chess set, and the pretty Hyacinths! Thanks for making these informative videos for us all to learn from.

@HandmadebyHeather14 ай бұрын
Good morning Danielle. I love your videos. Thank you so much for sharing all of your valuable information. I am in Iowa zone 5B and my Coralberry has been doing the same thing. We have been in a drought for the last three years so I don’t think that the wetness would be what is causing your berries to turn brown. Mine is not Proven Winners brand, is yours? I feel like I’ve seen gorgeous Coralberries from Proven Winners. I think I might dig mine out as well and try a PW brand. My black lace elderberry from Proven Winners also has the cane borers. PW told me that shrub could be cut all the way down to the ground. Obviously you wouldn’t want to do that with your hydrangeas. I did cut mine back in fall and I’m hoping it flushes out with fresh new growth, as it is several years old and was starting to look beautiful besides the one, large center cane that slowly started dying off through the year last year. Happy Gardening 🪻🌷

Hi Danielle, I love learning from you and envy your beautiful garden. I have a much smaller space but am working on it. 😊 are you not worried about planting now in the winter weather? Or are you just temperate enough during the winter that it’s not a huge deal? Thanks in advance!
@NorthlawnFlowerFarm4 ай бұрын
Hi friend! Things are pretty even with our temperatures now. No threat of below freezing in the 10 day. At this point in the year I can plant perennials that were overwintered outside. If it gets below freezing I may pop a bucket over newly planted perennials that were grown in a greenhouse.

Can I use a new purchased flowering hellebore as potted porch decor or is it too cold and would shock it? (Zone 5 WI, no signs of much on the older in ground plants yet. We could still get below 0.)
@NorthlawnFlowerFarm4 ай бұрын
Hi friend! Is this an outside porch exposed to the elements? If the hellebore was grown in a temperature controlled greenhouse and is not acclimated to the outdoor temperatures I would hold off. It won’t kill the plants root system but will most likely significantly harm all the blooms present. However, if you can find a greenhouse where they are being overwintered outside they should be okay. But I would imagine they would not be in bloom yet in your area if they are being overwintered outside.
