This guy is a hit or miss. He says no government would be ideal, when there is no government you have anarchy. With anarchy there is a power vacum and when a power vacum occurs that opens the door for tyranny. One only has to look at post soviet afghanistan.

@cjsoccer09 It is interesting that corporations do not become a serious threat to liberty until they attach themselves to the state apparatus. However, when business does indeed achieved this attachment they essentially become another arm of the state.

@ThunderAppeal: I'm not arguing against having "some kind of structure", what I'm arguing against is having that structure based on a centralized coercive monopoly(which is what a state is). And there are several histrorical examples of stateless societies that fared pretty well without a centralized coercive monopoly. Medieval Ireland, Medieval Iceland, the Mild West(Often misnamed as the "Wild West"). Please do some studies on the subject instead of resorting to childish and immature insults.

@Akatam0t0ma It is interesting, if amusing, to observe how some individuals accuse those who discount basing societal or civilizational structure upon the oligarchic foundation of government desire no structure whatsoever. It is akin to being accused of not wanting people to eat because they oppose government production and distribution of food. Their foundational assumption rests upon sand.

Big Unilateral party government in USA will bring the end to our current monetary system as well. Just as communism fell so would our current system of trading. Money that isnt backed up by any real world commidity(such as gold) is just paper, and eventually all the sleeping sheeps will wake up and notice all they have are bus tickets and shackles on their ankles. Im not very supportive of current political system we have in place, and real change needs to occur soon. So whogonna"vote"this year?

He's not panning self-rule. He's panning democracy vs. republicanism as a system of limited, non-tyrannical government. People usually know what good for themselves. That's why democracy is dangerous. It gives your neighbors unlimited rule over you, and strips you of your rights. Republicanism, as I'm sure you know, limits all the powers of government, assigns limited-term representatives, with limited power, and sets forth as permanent law (Bill of Rights) the list of those rights with which nature has already endowed each of us. The basis of all individual rights is self-ownership, or sovereignty. Only nature and reality determine what your rights are. Your rights are only abnegated by you, when you violate the rights of another. Governments neither determine what your rights are, nor do they have any rights themselves. Proper governments have only limited, contractual powers that enable them to secure the rights of the individuals under their jurisdiction. Democracy destroys this contract by assuming that 51% of the people have the right to violate the rights and wishes of the remaining 49%. True republics don't allow individual rights to be touched by government.

@ThunderAppeal: Care to address the arguments that he makes, or will your dismiss it, in the same way leftists dismiss valid arguments when it doesn't come from a source they like? Ad hominem. Pure logical fallacy. Try again. Until you try to address it, it stands as firm as the Egyptian pyramids.
