if yu sell puts now there is no "meat" for options expiring this week. But if you sell december 20 there is higher risk of this going below 55 (althougth getting assigned is what you want).What if it goes lower than 55? In general, I normally would sell puts one week for options expiring one week later. That way, I want to see it expire worthless to close the options. Been doing this for many years.

They will, but it doesn't always mean calls are in play. That's the tricky part. It may be a signal to sell off before going back up. Sometimes, it may be an IV crunch, which can kill options cons both ways.

Not really. Without cash or shares it’s called naked which most brokers will not allow. You need the equivalent cash to buy shares if you get exercised.

Yes you can-they are called cash secured puts…if the strike price is hit and you get put the shares (assigned) you must buy 100 shares at the strike price so you just need to have the $ to do that in case
