Water was way to hot, washers are usually at 110 degrees. Wash in warm and take the pants iut right after the final spin leaving inside out put swimming pool noodles in the legs, like two in each to prevent the sides from creasing. Then when almost dry put in the dryer for like 5 minutes.

If you put leather conditioner on the patch it will bounce back. Bick4 is not greasy and would do the trick

Very cool. I was just wondering how I should go about shrinking the waist of my Brave Star selvedge, and here you are magically with just the recipe I needed. Thanks a ton. That was very useful. Cheers

Make sure you watch the whole vid please (if you haven’t yet). The patch shrunk and there’s no turning back with it. I suggest having a tailor take in the waist instead before you go this route.
@ask000013 жыл бұрын
@@StylishGreaseMonkey Aye, thanks. I meant I’d go for a few warm soaks so as not to boil the leather patch. Or maybe just load up on carbs instead to adjust my waist line. :))

Thanks for the video Chris. Just got my first pair of Brave Star jeans in slim taper 18oz Renegade demin. I have a 31" waist and ordered the 30". The waist is loose and the jeans measure right at 32" as the website guide listed. But the fit through the hips and thighs is very good. I probably could have ordered the 29" to get a better waist fit, but was concerned that they would have been too tight in hips and thighs. Like you, I am going with a belt to keep them in place and wear them as much as I can. These things should last years and very happy with them. I'm expecting them to loosen up with wear and see how it goes in a few months, then wash.... not boil! I may order the 29" in the future. Keep up the great videos.... much appreciated. Maybe someone knows the answer to this... but why don't they make the jeans the same size as listed? The length is accurate.

Hey thanks and yes don’t boil them lol! I am ignorant to many things selvedge even though I own many. From what I understood, the size(s) of sanforized jeans are a moving target since it eventually loosen up through time and wear. Some have reported that the size of their jeans have stretched two sizes up! And of course on the other side of the spectrum is unsanforized like the wear to shrink 501s.

I got the same pair (15oz Cone) in the slim straight. You can probably contact Brave Star about buying a new patch (or make your own) and saddle stitch it on. Might be a cool project.

Thanks Kevin! I actually started to look around for a replacement but I think I might go with a custom one like you said and share the vids on it as a project. Thanks again!

Great jeans and by the way don’t do what I did here haha! Just want to share my stupidity.. The shirt is from Uniqlo and the Henley style shirt is from Lucky brand. I actually like Hanes T-shirts better than any other and that’s what I usually get. I buy a large and shrinks to my frame better.

I usually wash my jeans after wearing them 3 or 4 times. What is the reason you rarely wash them?
@kevinleyva30032 жыл бұрын
We do it for the fades lol but depending on where you live, most don’t really feel a need to wash them often. Think of it like wearing a jacket
@dumbernews3 жыл бұрын
Your not a 34 closer to 31to in brave even then each cut is difficult so check your measurements. jeans will stretch 1 inch in the waist so need to size down big time. Would be better to buy an inch tighter where you live. Dump the patch and add darts in the back might save those jeans. And the 2-3 finger rule should fit down your pants not your hole hand. Braves are the best just have to get the measurements down
@StylishGreaseMonkey3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! The only thing got ruined (thank goodness!) is the patch. Still love it and yes to darting!

Are you still wearing these jeans? I think they say the Regular taper is supposed to be more roomy in the seat more then the slim straight. Atleast that’s what I’m hoping. I ordered a pair of the slubtober come mills 13oz in slim straight in my regular size after trying the slim tapper in a size down, could barely bend down in those things.
@StylishGreaseMonkey Жыл бұрын
They are definitely roomier and yes I still wear them. I’ve slowed down a lot on buying jeans because my collection is designed to last a lifetime of wear. I have some styles that are not my favorite because of the tightness. I’m getting some age in me and prefer comfort over slim punishments haha…
