I was surprised to learn that the Barometz wasn’t a creature created by this manga. It’s a Zoophyte that has made appearances in several mythologies, ranging from Central Asia to Italy. Also, Balut is unfortunately a real thing as well, and it looks SIGNIFICANTLY worse in reality.

Once again, Laios displayed his dog tendencies! Anyway, Izutsumi behaves the way she does not only because she's a teenager and a cat, but also because she's a beastman. Heck, Shuro's family didn't "take her in". She was BOUGHT to be Maizuru's "pet" by Shuro's father. (Describing her as a "cat".) I don't blame her behavior, given those circumstances. Hence why she ditched that party first chance she got. Don't blame her at all. Pay attention to Laios and his hallucinations. That's not the first time he made note of it.

Immense respect for the creators of the show to not have Isuzumi in like 2 or 3 openings even though it was the arc she would also join the party. I hate how some anime have so many storybits flat out in the OP. I get people in Japan most likely watch the anime after reading the mangas, but spoilers right there in the OP!? Also it surely is cheap or easy to have 2 of the same OP with only a character added so props once again!

I think the reason why you think Laios looks like the royal family is because correct me if I'm wrong, but Laios and Falin came from a noble family or at least a high status one. That's what I assume at least based on their parent's looks.
