I've watched so many Fear and Hunger first-time streamer - and I have to say, Caleb is probably the best one so far. He is just the right amount of curious, careless and attentive sort that makes this game a delight to watch.

Actually heavily respect that he tried to do the scroll on his own, with minor help from chat. It’s definitely one of those features, like lucky coins, that the game basically never outright says how to utilize.

the game does but it's pretty cryptic with no outside help to figure it out. I managed to understand the hexen on my own but yeah with scrolls it can be tough because of how hyper specific its mechanics are

The different experiences ppl can have with funger are interesting, cuz the scrolls is one thing I figured out p. quickly since the game lets you find like two or three empty scroll messages on places, and after trying them out I just experimented until realizing you could get pretty much anything with them (no herbs though D=). Otoh it wasn't until after Termina had come out and I had beaten it once and started watching content on YT that I learned you can save in any bed for free by clearing out all of the enemies in the area. Mind was blown that day.

I mean it makes it pretty darn obvious. You find several scrolls all throughout the game, all structured the same. The coins description straight up tells you what to do.

Caleb is so clever, connecting the dots with the 4th older god that I don't want to get into for spoiler reasons. The game is extremely subtle with their existence as well, not even the dark priests are very knowledgable of them.

The peak clever moment was not cutting the cleaver arm off first after 8 deaths, KNOWING a hit guarantees a cut.

Fear and hunger is one of the best and most interesting games I've ever seen, and it's mainly because of the world design and it's lore It's also ridiculously hard. Probably the hardest game ever, on par if not harder than getting over it

Hardest game ever is a bit too far imo, but it's incredibly difficult, not helped by the fact that the dev is Finnish so he will NEVER tell players key features of the game cause he wants em to suffer and rot in hell.
