*Redstone is akin to “fat electricity”. When a block has redstone power it has a “signal strength” - this is equivalent to voltage. (If you want to visualize signal strength or voltage then think of a pipe where each section can hold anywhere from 0 to 15 liters.) Redstone dust is akin to a copper wire. By itself it has no charge but it *will propagate a redstone signal (voltage) to the adjacent blocks by losing one signal strength* when it powers all of its neighbors. A redstone or electrical system can be broken down into 3 types: * Sources * Transmission * Sinks An example of each: * a redstone torch, * redstone dust, and * a redstone lamp. *Redstone sources can further be broken down into 2 types: static or dynamic.* A redstone torch is normally always a source of 16 signal strength whereas a button temporarily generates a signal strength. Sources of signal strength include a wooden button, a stone button, a lever, a redstone torch, a redstone block, a pressure plate, a daylight sensor, etc. Place a lever along with 15 redstone dust in a straight line moving away from the lever. When the lever is toggled on what happens is this: * The lever generates a redstone signal strength of 16 * When the signal leaves the lever its strength is lowered by one. The first redstone dust has a signal strength of 15 (or 15 volts.). * The next adjacent redstone dust has a signal strength of 14, the next 13, etc. while the furthest has a signal strength of 1. On the Java edition one can press F3 to bring up the debug screen. If you look at a block it will it will show the current signal strength via power which ranges from 0 to 15. (If it says powered: true then that is a source of 16.) Redstone can make digital circuits such AND, OR, XOR, NAND, NOT, etc Boolean logic but that is an advanced topic. Hope this helps demystify redstone. If you want to extend our redstone wire more then 15 blocks we would need to place a redstone repeater. This boosts the signal (voltage) back up to 16 so the next redstone dust would have a signal strength of 15. A redstone repeater behaves like a diode, that is, it only propagates redstone in one direction. What makes redstone non-intuitive is that when redstone has power the dust AND *the block below it* has power. This is trivial to demonstrate if you place a line of 16 redstone lamps then place our lever and 15 redstone dust on top. Another confusing thing is that you can run a redstone signal “into” a block say stone. You can do this with redstone dust, you must use a repeater (or redstone torch).

For the people trying to do this in 1.15.2, I figured out that you will have to manually turn it on Everytime by putting a redstone torch next to every redstone path that isn't lighting up and then the water will flow and then you take off the torches to make the water stop. But sometimes when you try to stop the water it will keep running so you have to get a few empty buckets and clean up the excess water. Hope this helps!
@evilbear51174 жыл бұрын
In 1.15 works?
@SparlsOfficial4 жыл бұрын
@@evilbear5117 yes but no. The redstone doesn't really work correctly anymore so you have to manually place redstone torches near the line of redstone everytime you want the water to turn on, and then you have to take out the empty buckets from the dispensers and collect the water with them to get rid of the water since that is the only way now as 1.15.2 updated something and so now for some reason the redstone doesn't work right.

One thing though, I would suggest alternating the planting because of the rule that crops grow faster when they are in rows that aren’t touching other rows with the same crops. Maybe also give an option on how to expand left and right as opposed to straight back. Nevertheless great video and great design.
