Of course they need pretty good results to not be a meme. But monesy is hype, niko is a historically legendary player, hunter, top 20 for 4 years in a row, hooxi, the gigachad. So good for PR. Hooxi staying on the team comes down to his usefullness for the popularity of G2 as an org. As this gets them sponsorships and partnerships, which is an actually significant portion of their revenue. Semi finals every tourney is a success for g2, they are happy with that

Bro hooxi is alright. With him they won Katowice and cologne so its not on him. Nexa is just not delivering what JKS brought and hunter is not so good in cs2. So u now have 2 players that are subpar and Niko is still good but not a hard carry anymore. Imo they should remove Nexa and get a good support player. And in an ideal world they remove Nexa and hunter but i don't think Niko would like that.

It is amazing when G2 break that universal risk/reward system with every outstanding play-- a true marvel of what the beauty of determinism would be like (audience is going crazy!), but tragically falls apart when it is out of steam (sustainability). Fundamentally the problem is about sustaining the maximum level of play, not about the weakest link building up on 'momentum'. Nothing wrong with THE performance of G2 as the pressure increases exponentially, but given the human nature of scapegoating-- I think the Team Captain, objectively, fell short on what is deemed required to set up 'the dance' on the opposing side, whilst NATURALLY the rest of the G2 team breaks with that almost 'surgical' execution.

At this point, it became a joke on the part of the G2 board to allow m0nesy's career to end at rock bottom like this, leave m0nesy and hooxi (people criticize hooxi but he plays his role as IGL, no one expects big numbers just like Karrigan does the role, he doesn't have a good rating) bring JKS back and put Hunter on the bench since the transition of the game he hasn't been playing well despite this tournament he has improved his performance and Niko on the bench too since he doesn't have a shred of control and tilts for anything during the games, and only brings 2 new players who don't need to be star players ( m0nesy is already the star of the team ), they just need to play right.
