I'm not even a Crusaders supporter, but it's pretty amazing to be able to flog the Blues this hard while having a roster that has been ravaged by injuries. I heard the Crusaders had 12 current or former ABs out with injury. And to still drop 50... amazing effort.

Faianga'anuku is in rucks stealing balls, joining mauls like a beast and carving up defenses one on one. Scott Robertson will be the Abs coach very soon. Tamaiti Williams is dropping pass-assist tries like a mid-fielder. Will Jordan's offensive timing is coming back. Negatives: Auckland got so utterly demolished with a team full of players that Fozzie is probably going to select for the World Cup ... Beauden Barrett looks so out of form it's depressing. How do so many players selected for the Abs collectively play so poorly when the AB squad announcement is just around the corner? Wouldn't you be trying to impress the selectors to secure your spot in the squad? I guess they figure Fozzie will just pick the same mediocre team that has been getting wrecked over the last several years. Boy I hope Waikato win their semi so we can see the Crusaders vs the Chiefs and the players who REALLY want to be ABs can prove why they should be in the squad.

Several fringe All Blacks in the Blues probably had career-ending games (looking at you Caleb Clarke) in terms of AB selection. And others such as the Ioane brothers and Sotutu need a massive kick in the arse. They all looked like second string club players. Some positive signs from Richie, Will Jordan, S.Barett etc. who all had monster games. But I agree with you and I'm equally appalled at the thought of the national team going to a WC with so many passengers in it, given what we know of Foster.

Sure, he's big and powerful and fast and .... invisible, apparently. He's not AB quality in terms of output. Nice highlight reel stuff now and then, but much of the time he's just a passenger.

There are very few Blues players who played last night would I pick in the ABs squad.There is no exuse for that performance by the Blues who virtually played a Canterbury B team. Just like the final last year the Blues are not up to it for the big games. Leon McDonald has made progress with them over the last couple of years but key players have let him down. The front row, Papalili, Barrett, Ioane, Clarke.

@@TheOnlySgtRock Baeuden took contact 3 times in the game. These are his patterns from 10. Catch the ball, small dummy, then pass to the person outside him. Drop into a deeper pocket and pass to the deeper channel player. When he drops back to receive a kick, shuffle to ball to Zarn. The only attack he had was when he was shifted to fullback when Zarn (who was playing better than him) substituted. 0 influence on the game. He once was a world player of the year, now he’s more interested in his sponsorship deals. Even in Japan for Suntory he struggled to actually make impact from 10, the next year he was replaced by DMac and Suntory was a finalist. Time to retire, he’s 31, is not an impact player and has been terrible for 2 years+ It’s players like him that have been in the AB squad that have not had to earn it. That’s on the selectors and Fozzie for not dropping him. At least Jordie takes the ball to the line.

​@K.ellis 💯 agree with all of that. I find he's too easy to read as a 10. He passes the ball too early, and good 10s take the ball to the line before passing. He doesn't engage the defenders, he pretty much stands still when he catches the ball and shovels it across to the next player and defenders just line up the guys he passes it to because Beaudene ain't a threat to the defence. He engages Noone. Occasionally he will pull off an accurate kick pass to his winger and will result in a try but thats about the only thing of substance he has to offer. The rest of his game has no influence in any situation that will help his team. That's a player that's not willing to go into contact and been in the black jersey 2 years too long. He hasn't really offered anything since McCaw retired when beudy was a good bench player to Carter or Cruden. He's been overated for years!

When a winger can win a penalty from a ruck you know the opposition are in trouble. Auckland looked a shell of a team. The Crusaders have had huge injury issues this year and yet still make the final. The amount of ball the Blues coughed up was horrific and against a team like the Crusaders they make you pay.

Great for Crusaders fans, but a disaster for the All Blacks in a WC year. Half the team will be passengers. Crusaders were clinical and relentless and hats off to them and their fringe players for stepping up. What a team. If Foster goes off previous behavior, he'll still be selecting B.Barett, Sotutu, A. Clarke's a dud. That first year he made the ABs he seemed like he could be a superstar, with speed and power to burn. Turns out speed and power is all he has and he's got zero positional sense or passing ability or any of the subtle skills of the game. He was always raw talent, but he's shown absolutely no development since his debut.

The Chiefs were not that good last week and have another difficult team tonight. I have a sneaking suspicions the Brumbies mighty be heading south for the Final. I wouldn't write of Italy pulling off an upset under the current reisheme of fozzie. Italy have improved as a side and will have there fair share of support over in France in that pool match and like you said. It could become really disastrous if the ABs think it's a give in for 2nd place in there pool even if the ABs don't beat France..

The Chiefs haven't won a title in 10 years and this is the Crusaders 7th final in a row having won all of the previous ones... So, I wouldn't be so sure - no one expected them to give the Blues this much of a hiding given they have a dozen injured players and haven't finished the last two games with a full team on the park. They have also scored 94 points in the last two games despite all that. Chiefs had a tough job putting away the Brumbies till late in the game.

@@Hellknight27 you are probably right being a Chiefs supporter and their performance this year gives me glamour of hope it's now or never but the way Crusaders dealt to the Blue's last week well they showed their might good luck to the best on the day up the Chiefs 💪
