On Dota 2 I am not contradicting you: Yatoro, Collapse and LarI (Lari not LarL how people nicknamed him) are some of the best players in the world right now. This kid donk had a great tournament here, he is really talented, with alot of good key kills in the games for this torunament, but is just a tournament and is not even won, in the final they will have a really tought game against the team that is number 2 of All Time Rank #1 and is number 2 with 4 more days to become number 1 with the Longest Streak.. Let's see if he will win the final and even then, we will wait to see when it will reach on 3 tournament wins and keep his team on the 1st place on world ranking for more days and big wins.

Yeah, after a few months, i definitely still prefer mr16. Comebacks feel way less impactful and stomps feel less dominant, close matches don't even feel close even if they go into one overtime. What he did against FaZe was unfathomable. But when there are 10 players on a map, and the only thing you hear is donk, it’s boring to me. There is a lot going on in a game of counter strike, and I’m more interested in the intricacies of strategy and potential short comings than hearing “get donned on” for me - again, this is boring. It’s clever for a bit but gets old really fast. I have respect and admiration for this game and have since 2003. I’ve been around a while. I’m not salty because he beat my favourite team, I’m not a child who would hate on a 16 year old for being gifted at his craft. If, as you say, he’s only played in one major tournament, how can the world suddenly and collectively be his biggest fan? Everywhere you look “get donked” as though these people have believed in him for some time and are experiencing validation in their beliefs. He decimated legends. Those who have blessed us with Counter-Strike for years and years. Who crafted the meta and strategy and inspired kids, like donk, to play. “Get donked” is an easy way to pay disrespect to literally every single person who inspired him to get to where he is. And for all the fans who are now “donk fans” it seems highly unlikely the world shifted its view and everyone is suddenly a donk fan thrashing around the same word.

Regardless of what he did, personally, I wasnt interested in watching spirit games because of the obsessive “get donked on” narrative, that’s all it was. No one talked about broky dropping off the planet, rain playing like a plug. I think it’s incredible what he was able to achieve, with his team, and had a legendary performance. There’s no arguing that he smashed everyone. I’m usually a fan of underdog stories. In fact almost always. But beating it over the head in such a fashion that, in my eyes, came off as slightly chauvinistic. There are many good story lines that are more appealing, to me. If you have ever paid attention to sports, of any kind, you will see endless examples of band wagoners who immediately jump to cheer whole heartedly for the newest sensation, again, this is not my style and I find it boring. To call me contrarian is to make assumption. My 20 years watching cs is not useless. For me the greatest gift the event gave me was watching Glaive absolutely mantle Astralis. That was legendary. I felt that to my core, especially all he has been through and the hurdles he had to overcome to have that moment. Massive. Am I wrong for feeling the way I do?
