This was the very first Ron Pratt video I watched (I think). I've been a fan since. I used to run a roll back big enough to haul the rotater in the mountain passes of British Columbia, Canada. The company I was working for had a severe lack of understanding for things like safety, math or maintenance. I quit back a long time ago, and I heard the company went down hill from there.

as a public safety supervising officer I think the wrong call was made by state because it is a time problem. Sitting still(70 plus 0) or driving at 5 mph against flow of traffic(70 plus 5) is the same energy impact wise. So the time spent on the shoulder is the exposure to danger. If driving into on traffic will cut time on road by 2/3 I say it worth doing.
@messianichebrewshawnkawcak1550
@messianichebrewshawnkawcak1550 4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, if I were the cop I would have said go to the shoulder and back to the exit, also would have torn up grass less prevented erosion problems. I would even say pull it back through where it went in prevent more erosion problems.

My biggest fear all these years of driving (24) has been to blow a steer tire. I pull a load from Livingston, Ca to Tacoma,Wa and then a back haul out of Richland,Wa in the tri-cities area back to Stockton,Ca every week, I scale out 78000+ going north and coming south I'm normally at 79800. (my mid-haul over to Spokane,Wa is only 3500lbs! heh) Thankfully I drive for a company that is very safety minded, with all the passes I pass over every week they have no problem giving me new steer tires when-ever I feel there's a problem with them, they even let me run snow tires on my drives all year round. Glad to see the driver come out ok, sure have seen enough roll-overs. Awesome work you do and love that your safety first even if it eats the clock up. Stay Safe Brother!

it should be the tow truck drivers discretion as to how to remove the vehicle. law enforcement are not experts on vehicle recovery. had you been able to pull the truck out the direction you wanted it would have gone faster and everyone would have been out of there before dark.

The tow truck operator said that he ''knew it was against policy'' when he asked to take the truck backwards against traffic and to exit the highway using an on ramp, that implies that police have rules that they need to follow with regard to removing these vehicles. Law enforcement may not know anything about vehicle recovery and sure it would have been easier to pull it out backwards but that's not his only concern, he is also tasked with making sure other motorist that are driving that stretch of the road are safe and he deemed that driving a big rig along the side of the road against traffic wasn't safe, and I agree.

That is HP's call... It's their highway. There are plenty of reasons to not take it up the wrong way on both the highway then the on ramp. HP has a lot of things to take into consideration rather than just what's the quickest and easiest.

Awesome job Ron, I have to say you and your crew make a difficult job look easy, but that's where your experience comes into it's own, very professional, glad nobody got injured. Amazing really considering he crossed the median on a busy road like that, well done. Stay safe and god bless you all. pat. uk.

I would say that it was nothing short of a miracle that nobody was injured in this wreck. This was a busy interstate. Thanks for watching and God bless.

I really like this channel as I have always been interested in & like watching these types of videos! The ones on TV always looked staged to me & scripted for TV! This channel & a couple others are not like that & are actually informative & I enjoy watching them! Thank you for doing these great videos!

I watched one of your videos couple weeks ago. And from the first video I was hooked. Subscribed then. I've been binge watching now for 3 days. Favorite channel. Thank you. And I also love the way you speak and your faith in God. You are a great person and the guys who work for you seem same, they look up to you and the way you help them, showing them is just.what I like.

As usual Good work Ron and crew. It really helps that you know so much about towing and recovery of big rigs. How long in real time did this recovery take? I see the video is a touch over 1 hour long. In Minnesota I think you would have been allow to go the wrong way because of time and safety. I disagree with the troupers request you not do that. The decision to say no could have turned out badly. It did not turn out badly luckily. Part of the reason for that is how you do your job and what you know about towing and recovery. Thanks for sharing this video.
