I do this too and I found its so much easier to not pull the hair all the way through when putting it in a pony tail. It creates a messy bun form and then u can just pull the hair out looser to make it a bigger bun.

I have the same type of hair, it's probably "heat-trained" hair. So it's not necessarily damaged, it just comes from straightening curly hair sometimes.

her hair is naturally curly (and so is mine) and i know something that helps enhance my curls is scrunching them upsidedown in the shower while i rise out most of my conditioner after i comb my curls out. hope that helps!

funny thing is most black women have a texture similar to her but most don't know their true texture because having a perm at an early age. I know so many women who have gone natural who are suprised when they finally get to see their real texture of hair is curly and soft

If you're using this time during your transition to educate yourself on natural hair then yes it will be. Don't do like a lot of women and wait until you go natural and then try and figure out what styles to do, what products to try, what your regimen will be etc. Do that now in preparation for when you're natural and you'll save yourself time and trouble.

People are saying that MOST black people have thick natural hair unlike hers. Out edges don't lay down like that. Out is more frizzy and coarser than hers. She doesn't have to be mixed with anything for her hair to be like that. It's just a different texture.

hellooo.. I've come to make a helpful suggestion ..instead of using a 2nd hair tie to wrap the bun ..the use of bobby pins would be a good choice as well ..it keeps from damaging the hair that scrunchies sometimes do when the hair is wrapped in a bun with it. Welp that's it :)!

You have to get products that are water based , because if your hair is naturally curly and you use water based products it won't be dry or frizzy
