I tried this last night, it turned out great. My hair texture is fine but long so it turned out in a shoulder length bob, soft and bouncy. I'm going through a no heat growth stage so I will be using the style for a while. Thanks soooooo much!!!!!

You're welcome ^_^Trust me your hair is always growing! I say maintain moisturizing and sealing as much as you need to..You will come to find that your regimen may change as you begin to master your own hair needs and likes..Right now focus on health and hairstyles you like that allow you to manipulate it less and protect the ends of your hair. My favorite protective style that hides and protect my ends are the banana clip high buns..It goes with anything youre wearing and less manipulative.

you did this with regular conditioner... flawless and no flat twisting... love it.

Thank you for making this video. It has helped me upkeep my curly hair. Day one I do my regular curly routine and air dry. However with your twist method, I am able to get second, third, and sometimes even fourth day curly hair. This is awesome. It started to get really annoying to leave the house with dripping wet hair (especially in the brutal winter in CT.), then waiting two to three hours for it to dry. So again thanks for the tutorial. Love the videos. God Bless You.

You should be able to leave in any conditioner that does not have protein in it (keratin, amino acid, collagen, soy protein, wheat protein). Make sure it says moisturizing conditioner and it should be fine. Try it and see, some will work better for you than others. I personally love Pantene conditioners as leave ins, Herbal Essence conditioners work great too and they're cheap.

This is gorgeous. I have heat damage so extreme that it looks like I am transitioning from relaxed hair. Half of my hair is all straight from excessive heat. So of course it won't hold a style. I will try this tomorrow on my cowash day .thanks

It should, just try the flexi rod method for the ends.
@Ilikefrogs..12 жыл бұрын
You can use Eco Styler Gel, some people wait until their hair is damp before twisting (instead of doing it on soaking wet hair). I use a mix of Shea Butter and Vitamin E Oil to do my braid-outs (since they're both supposed to help prevent shrinkage). It's nice because even if your hair gets blown around and rained on, it still stays pretty :)
@YolandaBennett12 жыл бұрын
put your hair in plat to air dry instead of leaving it out. also put your leave in condition on before doing your plats. this will keep it from getting tangled

It depends on the conditioner you use. Personally I only use organic conditioners and those are safe to leave in but most conditioners as long as they are sulfate free are ok to leave i. Just don't get it too close to your scalp (it is heavy and can cause much build up or irritate your skin if you aren't careful).

I have a question but first I would like to start by saying I love you guys videos !! I just decided to go natural and I am trying to decided the best transition protective styles to do. From my research this seems to be everyones favorite. I'm only one month natural but my curl pattern is already coming (or new growth) in under my relaxed hair. My question is when is the best time during the transition phase to do these protective styles ? Should I wait until my curl pattern surfaces ?
@L155812 жыл бұрын
Hi..Just thought I help out..but you can blow dry your hair on cool setting. Let your hair air dry a little for like 20 minutes and then go in with a blow dryer on cool setting or low heat...If you prefer blow outs it would be best to do your wash days bi weekly..this helps avoid overuse and too much manipulation ..HHJ ^_^

because i've always been a long hair type of girl and in my opinion my hair isn't long enough to rock curly hair yet....i relaxed my hair since the 6th grade and it was fine my hair was very long and thick....but the last perm i got really didn't feel right so i stopped...i did the "big chop" last october...my hair was to my chin....now it's past my collar bone...so i'm hoping a year from now it will be long enough so that when i curl it, it will at least touch my collar bone

So heat damage is the reason why some of my ends don't curl when wet? I wondered about that. Thanks for the info! I also twist my hair but I use soft flexible curlers for the ends. Easier to sleep on. I see you do a lot of twists. I do less but your hair looks curlier, so I think I'll try doing more of them and see if there's a difference.
@Tlovemusic9312 жыл бұрын
How do you sleep on the twists? In a bonnet or just on a satin/silk pillow case or the same way when you do your curly routine (plastic bag+bonnet)? Thank you and your hair is so beautiful..I cant wait for my hair to get to your lenght :))

guys you don't have to be "mixed" to have long, curly hair. it's just natural to them.. and also there is no real "secret" to growing long hair. everyone's hair grows, it's just that some people retain their length more than others.
