@CombatBuckee were you the truck driver? Were you there? If not, than how do you definitely know that the driver saw that car? If the truck was just off screen, having a long nose pete, it's every bit possible the car could have crept into the trucks blind spot. As a truck driver for "10 years" you should know the blind spot to the front of the tractor can be up to 20 feet, or did you get your CDL out of a cereal box? Your comment sounds like something a permitted trainee would say.

I not really. He tried to get in that spot because there was an open gap that truck was actually at a standstill. You can see the reflection on the VW. The truck started moving when everybody else started moving because I'm assuming everybody got the green light. The truck wasn't paying attention but had perfect view of the Volkswagen entering into the lane but could not see directly in front of them so if They didn't pay attention to watch the VW cut through traffic. They weren't gonna see them after they made it to the lane .

Despite the fact that the VW broke the rules and acted stupidly, the truck driver was the only vehicle in motion when the accident occured so it's pretty clearly the truck driver who will be mostly liable. We all have to avoid accidents, even if the cause of the accident is somebody breaking the rules. Obviously the truck didn't see the car, which is why you should never do what that car did. Unfortunately just because you did all the right things it doesn't mean you won't be found responsible. After this, the truck driver will learn not to trust that their blindspots were empty before, it doesn't mean they will remain that way. When you cannot see the cars around you, you need to act accordingly. Blindspots do not absolve you from the need to wait until the road is clear to proceed.

I had a similar situation happen to me. I did not see the car. The hood of my truck blocked that car coming from the side and I drove right into it just like this. The lady said she thought I knew she was there. When the light turned green I went and followed the car in front of me. The cop wrote her a ticket. The accident was her fault. There’s nothing wrong with that the VW did. The cars left room for him to cross and he did it safe, slow and didn’t cut any one off. There’s also a cut in the clip to where the truck hit the car meaning the trucks wasn’t right there when the VW crossed over. 100% the trucks fault.

The semi truck started breaking according to that spot being open, He wasn't expecting a Jetta to just randomly appear in that open spot where he was planning on breaking two. It takes a lot longer for a semi truck to break than other cars because they have so much weight.

Eyes on the ROAD this driver of causing a terrible accident. I’m a driver too , before I start engine, I pray to protects all people on the road and no accident that I will cause and no one be hurt until reaching their destination. This driver obviously LIABLE for this crash. I wish the driver of white car was fine. The drivers gave RESPECT to exit but unluckily there was irresponsible, feeling that he owed the road ( no judgemental here) . Accident is like RESPECT all direction .
