FYI, careful on that tensioner bolt, it needs to be replaced with a grade 8 bolt. Mine snapped. Good video!

We upgraded some of our apus from 65amp to the 120amp and u have to ground the regulator on the alternator and the 120amp atl should work fine.

I slept with the APU running all night but when I was gonna turn up my truck my batteries were dead. Do you think it’s my APU alternator that is causing the problem or my truck’s alternator? I jumped the truck and now my voltage stays at 13.8.

Is it possible that on/off switch on the apu can disable the HMI and all electricity on the apu? all my fuses are ok but still no power to the motherboard or the hmi…the only thing I’m thinking that could be the culprit is the actual on/off “safety” switch on the apu itself. Please confirm.

Actually the 120 amp alternator replaces the 65 amp just fine. I just changed mine out because of the same code ALt upside down f funky digit. Can’t get the 65 amp in a new unit anymore only recon. So I put a 120 amp on and I have no hitches no problems.

I noticed you cannot put the wrong Amp alt on it. There was a issue here at my job someone put a 120amp on it when it needed a 65amp. But I spent hours checking wires ground power all that. I belive if u look up at ur condenser and if u have a temp sensor by that n ur dryer then it's a 120 Amp don't quote me but that's what I was told

I believe I have to replace my alternator also, mine is over charging the Battery's 14.5 volts, I think that's too high, should be 13.8 to 14.2

hello Ryan thanks for all those videos you make that help us big time i have the same apu run for 5 to 10 minutes and shut down the alternator is pushing 13.9 volts, i just did apm with om parts and still doing that all fuses are good fans both working good, you have idea what else could be?

The alternator you just installed will be bad again in 3-4 month or when summer will come. Its pre 2008 my apu and have specific problem. The belt is installed wrong on ac compressor's pulley.

excellent video. im getting an AL(T) code. all fuses are good on apu. control panel works fine. i am hearing a faint click/buzzing noise. any idea. from what i am watching its ALT indicates alternator.. id appreciate the insight.
