Thank you. It has helped me so much for the basic, Specially for depletion layer.

I noticed a slight mistake there, Sir. On the Germanium and Silicon potential difference. I think you may have gotten it the other way round. Germanium ~ 0.2 to 0.3 Silicon ~ 0.6 to 0.7 But other than that, thank you for the great explanation!

Hello sir. Could you tell me please who is right. Some sources, actually most tell of holes diffusion into N region, but in your presentation we see electrons leaving phsoporus atom and formation of positive ions on N side and formation of negative ions in P side thus we have depletion region and electric field. This explanation seams very logicall but the others insist of holes migration into N side. I can not understand that.

Actually the holes do not exist, it is just a theory . When an electron flows to the p side, a hole will exist at the place where the electron leaves. So actually the hole doesn't flow because it does not exist. Basically it is just a space for electron to fill in. When the electron leaves, there will be an empty space and it is called hole

How is the potential difference produced? How is that related to charges???

Great teaching. Just for clarity though, Silicon is 0.6V and Germanium is 0.2V.

I dont understand the part where the holes and electrons disappearing to form depletion layer. Why cant the electrons continue migrating ?
@lalacumayeva88235 жыл бұрын
İ think because of the negative layer, it prevent the electrons to across and fill the holes

Why so rude? His English may not be very good but it's definitely good enough and can be understood by the vast majority of people. Your English actually sounds worse than his, based on your punctuation and choice of words. Don't be a hypocrite, be nice.
