I can relate to this guy's story. I was married in Middletown, where we stayed in a tenement, then rented a trailer in Springfield. We ate a lot of meals at local soup kitchens there. Literally a week before the epidemic of kung-flu totalitarianism, we moved into a box truck and lived in parking lots around Dayton. We were homeless for a few years, eventually wandering to South Dakota and living in an old RV with no plumbing. We are now fixing up a nearly-condemned trailer, paid in full in cash, and I'm employed full time as a teacher. Now I'm free to live a simple hillbilly life and foster/adopt insofar as the Lord permits. I'm thankful for the optimism brought about by recent events. The Biden years are soon to be a bittersweet memory.

This is a useful reference because it is a rightful, human experience to be connected, body, soul, and spirit to home. To be willing to die for it is the natural outcome of people who have lived off its produce, and enjoyed its beauty, and shared a common language and values. God takes that experience and reminds us that the earthly homeland is merely a shadow of the perfect heavenly one. Thank you for reminding us of what God can do for us even in the imperfections of this government and these people. He is ready to help us live and love well in this place where he has put us.
