The problem is people not being able to get jobs even after they have changed their lives. They told me in Illinois that non violent crimes could be sealed. I changed my thought process and educated myself the whole 3 years I was incarcerated. I came home received my associates degree and worked jobs on and off because I kept getting fired when my background came back. I went in front of the judge and had letter from the community. She still turned me down while praising all my accomplishments says don’t be discouraged. I can’t get a job or housing . I know I was dead wrong but I didn’t physically hurt anyone why can’t I get a second chance. I was mislead and had no guidance growing up. I hate I made poor decisions but I’m really not that guy anymore def would never steal or burglarize again. Do we want people to recitivise in some weird way ? Do we want people to give up on life and do god knows what ? Some people aren’t strong enough. God doesn’t punish people forever so what is this ?

No, my friend the problem is believing in the wrong people. Prison reform it’s nothing but a new formula to incarcerate black bodies. If you notice every 8 to 10 years. There is a new criminal reform. I hope that Black people are smart enough to see this by now.

You need to rehabilitate that's not been done ever , minor crimes let them go , People with records can't get jobs change that situation. Whom ever is not educated. Educate them , clean up our jails corrupted free , get rid of the corruption of Guards etc. You won't ever get rid of drugs find away like other Countries finding away to curb this ! Do something

Im all for positive changes .. everyone deserves a second chance. But we are also experiencing negative consequences on releasing certain individuals to complete probation and commit murder / robbery or even drugs . There has to be a better solution. I’m tired of us wanting to help and expect people to change and they just don’t. I’m not speaking on everyone but the percentage isn’t small .

As district attorney of San Francisco, Harris championed state legislation that threatened jail time for parents if their children were repeatedly absent; defended convictions in cases where there was evidence of innocence and prosecutorial misconduct; opposed legislation to require AG (attorney general) investigations into police shootings; defended the prison system in civil rights litigation; and clashed with sex worker rights groups. She declined to seek the death penalty as district attorney of San Francisco, but then as attorney general fought against a challenge to capital punishment.
