Sen. Mike Gabbard co-hosted a “Cruelty to Animals in Hawai‘i” Virtual Townhall Meeting with Representative Elijah Pierick on December 10, 2024. The townhall highlighted the growing issue of animal cruelty (especially feral cats) in our state, and how to reduce the feral cat population with local experts including Stephanie Kendrick from the Hawaiian Humane Society, Leilani Ng from Kat Charities, Jennifer Kishimori from Cat Friends, Dr. Shauna Mead from Animal House, Inga Gibson from Pono Advocacy, and Dr. Eliane Lau from Paradise Cat Care.
