Would like to know how well you can communicate with google maps. For instance, while you are under way, can you just say ok google navigate to Joe's Bar and grille in [ some location ] This would be the main thing for my use. That and volume at freeway speed with loud pipes. THANKS

Same here, mate ... my best riding buddy has a Sena integrated in his GT-Air II ... I hate being hemmed into a certain manufacturer like that, and past Cardo units have been way better than Sena ... but my mate got sucked in by the integration with his helmet ... 😏 Still think I’m going to buy a Cardo, but hopefully the new Sena is competitive and prices will drop some ...

No it isn't I contacted Sena they said it's just more waterproof than the 30k 😂 that isn't waterproof either

I purchased a Lexin FT 4 PRO for $169. Was able to connect to a Sena 30k with great results. My buddy said The Lexin actually stays connected better while out of line of sight than his riding buddy that also owns a 30k. I had several questions so I emailed Lexin and they got back to me in less than 48 hours and answered all of my questions. I purchased this unit based on many reviews including yours Dave😁. I had the opportunity to get the sena at dealer cost which was still 60 bucks more than the Lexin but chose customer service over name brand since the product seem to be equivalent. I could not be happier. Speakers are loud. Cell phone calls at 70 miles an hour and the people on the other end didn't know I was on my motorcycle. The Lexin is waterproof SENA.... Love you DAVE😘

I have the sena 50r and love it. Being able to do anything hands free is a game changer. I have a Samsung tho, but I can just say " okay Google play pandora " or turn my music down, next song, call james, take me to the nearest gas station , etc. Music sounds amazing , loud and clear. Good amount of bass. However, I've never had another sena or packtalk so I cant compare. I just know I love my sena and glad I finally got a intercom

Glad I watched this to see the cable and connector difference between the two. The 50R appears as if it might use the same Sena-propietary mic and speaker cable connectors as the Prism Tube Camera. Which means you're married to Sena speakers and mic.

Upgrade from Packtalk Bold JBL to Sena 50S and think that Sena is currently better. Much easy to use, better. SW upgrade process, faster start, little loudly, much better design, faster charging. In did not find any area where Sena is worse, maybe sound of music is with JBL little smoother, Sena sounds more like speaker focused on better speak recognition than music quality.

I have the 50R, the design and the audio quality (music) is very good, however, I’m disappointed with the Vox (wind noise) and audio when connected to a BMW R1250GS TFT system. I had several problem which I reported to Sena. One of the main reasons I selected Sena was because my other friends all have Sena. I would interested in your PackTalk to 50R comparison test.

@@LongWayHome Thank you for your reply. The group ride is with a Meetup group, so not sure what the rest will be using. Within my buddies, I am the first one getting this device. So, there's no dependency on what they are using either. What I am looking for is something my wife and I can use for two up riding. Music quality (not loudness) is very critical for us. So are ease of use (less clicks/steps to accomplish things) and future proof, cutting edge technology.

I have both Cardo Pactalk Bold JBL and Sena 50R. Cardo JBL speaker still sounds better than Sena 50R new HD speaker. The gap is closer now but i still prefer JBL speaker.

I think Headset bluetooth helm will do, it exactly like a bluetooth headset but attachable to the helmet. It is has a speaker and mic. I have used that kind for daily riding to the work and work well.

I have the 50s I like the sound quality and open mesh is great but I don't think the voice assistant controls are as good as the Cardo... Make sure to cover that in your comparison between the two

Hi ! sorry for my english language , I used google translate. Congratulations for the video. I bought the Sena 50S duo after having seen this video. Unfortunately in my configuration it doesn't work. This is the my configuration: -BMW GS adventure with TFT - Iphone 11 -Rugged for navigation only (BMW Connected, Osmand, Google Maps etc) -Sena 50S The connections are: Iphone pairing with Sena 50S - Rugged pairing with TFT mobile devices-Sena pairing with second mobile phone profile with TFT. I am not receiving phone calls in the headset, siri is OK. Can you help me or I necessarily have to use a navigator? Thanks

Can you please please please let me know if the new Sena can play streamed music above 20kmh without constantly cutting out, 30k seems to fail miserably on this most basic function (Fm radio however works fine which is great, however not when you get above the polar circle and radio channels get few and far beyond) ....

By the way before someone asks, yes tried every bloody setting in the book... have a dual pack and same experience on both devices that also got replacements and still no joy with music streaming (with would of been nice when I was heading up to the Northcape last year by myself)... turn the mic sensitivity down the lowest, tweaked other settings as recommended by Sena, no joy. So before I go and change the brand, do let me know if the 50 models support the basic music streaming...

Is it waterproof? One of the reasons I went for the Cardo (beside sounds quality) was the fact that it is waterproof.

Have had the 50R fitted for a month or so now, the 50R speakers are most definitely loader had the 30k previously and had throw it in the bin as it was useless, ok here goes, why does the 50R have a Velcro mount option, it’s a hard wired unit and can’t be removed, why are there only the fat foam spacers and not the medium ones, penny pinching, I filled the screw holes with sealant to makes it more water resistant, then soaked it in ACF50, also used the double sided 3M mount as this helps seal the back of the unit. Any who, it’s seems to be a lot better than the 30k but to be realistic your couldn’t have got any worse, Sena offer the US a trade in of the 30k for the 50 so no loyalty to European customers. So far I am happy, good audio, auto wireless upgrade cable works a treat, the buttons are a little fiddly with gloves on but slowly getting used to it, al in all I am happy with the unit but not the cost as the Cardo Packtalk hold is still £100 cheaper and water resistant, still not something Sena lay claim to.

Bart van Maanen I keep all my helmets indoors, as I don’t like them getting damp from being in the garage, I have hangers on the walls for the helmets and just plug the helmet in whilst it’s on the the wall, works fine and the update cable does what is says it’s does and auto updates the headset. So far really pleased

Citizenthirteen just returned from France, the headset went through the biggest soaking of its like, monsoon style rain for the entire day, all my waterproofs leaked, the pin lock on the helmet misted up and collected water, water was coming in up under the chin of the helmet, and the Sena 50R not a peep of problems worked like a trooper the entire time, so although they don’t claim it to be waterproof I am pretty confident it is now, the 30k went faulty after a light drizzle so I think sorted some of the issues.

I bought a 30k on release (after a good experience with the 5s) and it's a total POS that had not seen significant firmware updates until recently. I'll not buy another Sena product.

It will install firmware patches automatically ... they could miss this option because they don't update the devices at all, or very rarely. My worse nightmare - a year of conversation with e-boots on the sena service site - they dont care about customer at all :(. They dont listen you - just want your money :(

for testing wireless comm's, if u do quit a bit more testing, COULD pur$cha$e a TEST HELMET to mount on Test Dummy Head. then basemounts could be sticked on, then ripped off, and looking UGLY wouldn't matter because itsa TEST DUMMY TEST HELMET wireless comm's. even pur$ha$e less expen$ive helmet as only used for TESTing, which is limited use. just sayin'. 'course then you'd need to find another excuse for 8-speaker TEST DUMMY TEST HELMET.
