Overall it performed very well, better than most of my previous systems. I had no issues with the device in the short rain showers we encountered. The buttons are large and easy to find and easy to press. Only rarely did the communication on my side cut out and mainly because we were too far apart for the mesh I believe. The battery life was outstanding. In my opinion this is the best communication option for the Shoei RF-1400 helmet you can buy.

Hi Cruiseman, a great review. Robert's video shows exactly how to install the unit. I appreciate that you included the audio feed to show the clarity of the connection! Ride safely!

Pro Tip: The speakers need to be touching your ears, or even pressing on them a bit to get much improved sound quality. Spacers are available in various thicknesses to achieve this. Doing this will greatly improve the sound at all ranges, especially the low end for voice and music quality, and will remove the "tinney" effect you would otherwise get.

I have the Shoei Neo-tec2 with the Sena mesh communicator. The battery fails on a regular basis for longer rides. It’s very frustrating because when it fails I lose CarPlay on my Goldwing Tour DCT. My friend has the same setup and his failed as well so it’s a battery issue for longevity. Not Good

I also have that srl2 on my Shoei and I confirm that it sucks at battery life, after 4 hours it is already warning you that the battery is low and you can't charge the thing while using it, stay away from that model.

@@cmoerob yes I tried to charge as i go and it can’t be used plugged into a power brick

SRL-2 is now replaced by SRL-Mesh, I have this new version on my GT-Air2 and I'm more than pleased

@ I have the mesh and so does my riding buddy. Both in the neotec2 and we both have battery problems in an afternoon ride.

Chris just 1 question my friend - is the unit waterproof ?
@cruisemansgarage3 ай бұрын
They don't make that claim, but it looks to be very weather sealed. Probably would not survive dropping into a tank of water.

Do the speakers fit inside the diameter of the rf1400 ear wells? A local bike shop said is need to dremil the helmet wells so they could fit flat. I am not about to drill out my helmet and hope this shop guy did not know what he was talking about. That said, my current communicator speakers fit in my rf1200 but not the 1400 as the diameter of the opening is smaller

Robert said they fit fine and he did not have to Dremel anything.

I ride Harley and have Sena 50s. They suck. $750 for them through Harley and there was no instruction manual. Went online and found a pitiful excuse for a manual, that i had to print out. I will never buy another Sena. They are overpriced junk!

The Hardly Davidson version is different from other retail versions. The normal ones go for about $250 each, and actually are different and run better than the ones sold at HD. Hardly Davidson ripped you off not Sena.
@icrobicrob27183 ай бұрын
@@hidden_killz5102 that’s not true. I have both the Harley branded Sena 50s and 50s purchased directly from Sena. They perform the exact same. They aren’t bad but the range on both Sena and Cardo communicators are MUCH lower than advertised.
